Been up since 4am and extremely hungry so the steriods after having fec 3 on thursday have kicked in i can safely say!
Fec 3 for me seems to have been the best so far, fingers crossed, i think because they gave it too me slower than previously and had the emend the last 2 times. Have the aches after the neuro…injection but get used to that now. But i’ve had no nausea, been eating well, bit of energy at the moment so lets hope it keeps on the up!
Chris - its sounds like you’re going through the mill with family. You poor thing.
To whoever didn’t get to see Take That, if its any consolation at all, i was meant to be in Vegas on a crazy long weekend with work colleagues last weekend which i’d won as an incentive! I was so gutted i wasn’t there i can tell you! But i keep reminding myself of the money i will have saved!! It kind of helps me!
Good look with any SE’s to all, me included! I’m hoping to go away to the South Coast after running the Race for Life next Sunday. Pray for good weather as I can’t remember the last UK holiday i had but i just want to get by the sea as i live in the Midlands - no beaches or sea around!
Take care and virtual hugs to all (()))

Sorry to hear what’s happening, Chris. We are all feeling for you and sending gentle virtual <<hugs>>
Last week’s sunburn on the newly-discovered vitiligo on me scalp is now healed nicely and peeling in sheets.
I’ve had a minor Tax Trots today and had aches last night, but overall, apart from feeling very, very tired, SEs are very doable. Such a difference to EC. My mood is so much brighter.
Well a lovely day of retail therapy in Harrogate yesterday … collapsed at tea time … and another lovely day today gardening … now collapsing … may attempt the gym again tomorrow … SEs copable with … just wish my stomach cramps would go! Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine…xxx
Hi all
Chris- really hope things start to get better for you soon. Sometimes it is all too much isn’t it. My Dad is also very poorly and has ended up in hospital as his kidneys have packed up, his diabetes is out of control and he can’t get about, so my poor mum is trying to help him and me and look after grandchildren. I’m sure things will start to improve soon but it’s hard to stay positive when everything seems to go wrong at once.
Jane-my eyebrows are hanging on and I haven’t shaved my legs for weeks. LG is thinner but still evident BUT hair is growing on my head-WHITE HAIR! It was nearly black and I didn’t have many white ones before. Will wear hats until I can colour it. But surely it shouldn’t be growing while I’m having chemo.
Been shopping today and bought dark nail polish as I think someone said it was good to protect nails on Tax. I have first tax on Thursday. I went to work yesterday and taught my class for the first time since February. I loved it and they did too! Feeling good at the mo and making the most of last few days before next one.
Hi Darling Buddies,
yes i’m the rock for my lot so life can be stressful anyway. I’m doing a bit better than last time but stomach not settled as well, which could be stress.I’ll just carry on as best i can. Have no choice really. Hopefully the practice nurse will come up with something to help OH.
I’ve not taken all the meds as I dont want to find the black hole again but maybe should have taken a few more so probably my fault. But have reached post day 4 fec3. Feel well enough just very tired and a little nervous tummy.Hair is sprouting but not everywhere Mines white to but then it was half white anyway when my hairdresser wasn’t available.Eyebrows still there maybe a little thinner.
Love to all thanks for the support… Chris xx
Hi all!! It been a long while so I hope everyone is ok!! After second fec I did race for life with 30 friends and dressed as mrs incredible!! It was a brilliant day! However I then went to stay with my mum and took baby and had rotten week
I got very very constipated (ewww) and was in and out of hospital again eventslly having an enema as got soooo bad I was sick!! All dignity lost but it did sort me out and I felt better but it took another three days for me to feel good so it has only been this last week I have felt semi ok so tried to get out and about with baba. 3rd fec due this Thursday and hoping it won’t be as crappy ( excuse the pun!!) but who knows!
Missed being on here but has no Internet at my mums and each day is a blur of baby related craziness and by his bedtime I’m exhausted and just crash! Oooh did go to a lovely wedding last weekend though and had a rest in hotel and spa and bought a fab hat for occasion!
I really hope u r all feeling well and a huge hug to all and a wave and thank u to Beverlie for noticing my absence ta!
Big smiles to all!! Claire
Ps any recconendations apart from enemas for relief of bowel issues???
Hi PP - good to see you back. Not seen Hips for a while - hope she is OK, too.
WRT the (ahem) blockage - sounds AWFUL. I just o/d on high-fibre food and add Senokots as and when until it all clears again. The Movicol from the chemo ward makes me heave but Fybogel is an orange-flavoured drinkable bulking agent which is easier to tolerate. You can get it on script so it won’t cost you anything to try it; it’s quite dear to buy.
Poleprincess, have all been wondering how you were as you haven’t been here for nearly two weeks. I am sorry you are having such a bad time with constipation. I can’t offer you any suggestions on dealing with the problem as I have been the complete opposite. What have the doctors suggested? I am glad you had one nice day at wedding. Can we get a picture of the hat?
Smiles, have a good time at your concert next Wed.
Chris, so sorry things have been rough for you recently. I hope things improve soon.
Rachel, It must have been nice to see your class again especially as the summer hols are almost upon us.
Icare, I have the same issue in the LG. It has disappeared everywhere except for some strays around the bikini line. Are they just stronger there than elsewhere?
My daughter is running ‘Race for Life’ today in Bolton and having BBQ afterwards for some friends that are doing it, also. I wish I could go and watch but it is too far for a day trip as I am just outside London. FEC3 on Tues, I have mixed feelings about it. Not looking forward to feeling crappy again and looking forward to getting another one out of the way. FEC2 was easier than FEC1 and I hope it will be the same again.
Sorry haven’t been on for a little while, hope everyone is ok. Sorry you’re having a rough time chris. I’m in my good week and have loads of energy and am doing ‘stuff’ around the house. Going to enjoy it while I can before heading back to UK next sunday for FEC3. Although think I’ll just laze and watch the tennis finals today.
Hi girls
Just wondering those of you with sore arms does yours go solid and purple, motley ish and swollen my arm has been giving me so much pain last night and today, infact be hurting all over my neck back chest and where the port is in is this common?
Thanks
Rhona.x
Rhona,
I haven’t heard of this before. I would contact your chemo unit or go and see your GP in the morning just to be on the safe side. If it really is very painful I would go to A&E or ring the out of hours GP service for advice. Hoping you feel better soon.
Rhona - sounds like you need advice asap… Keep us posted!
Smiles - sorry to be so long replying - been hyper-busy doing lots and lots in my “good” week! Was really busy yesterday, almost normal activity, except the walk with the dog was still short (but at least I did it!) Tax2 tomorrow, which is the last-but-one! Hoping that it wont’ be as bad as the last one… and wishing all the best to those who are getting poisoned this week. St.Eroid is doing his stuff, and I’m wired. Not expecting to sleep much tonight, but I’ve got a good book and stuff to watch on TV…
How are the armpits doing Ninj?!! Jane
Hi all,
Getting FEC3 tomorrow, so busy today trying to do as much as I can before the SEs kick in. I have coffee with a friend this am, lunch with my daughter and afternoon in the garden trying to do something about the weeds. The weeds are winning.
Just had a really sad email from my cousin in Canada. He and his wife were supposed to be visiting this Sept but he was diagnosed with lung cancer 3 months before I found out I had BC. He is starting a new course of chemo tomorrow but the doctors have told him that his chances are very poor. The chemo is to try and buy him a few more months. I am keeping my fingers crossed I can get to Canada to see him before the end comes.
Rhona, How are you doing this am?
Good luck with poisons and SEs everybody. There seems to be quite a few of us up for treatment this week.
Good Morrow Buds.
Cherry - I’m up for poison every week till mid-September so I’ll accept everyone’s wishes all the time (greedy).
Rhona - get thee to a doctor/nurse/hospital NOW - sounds very strange, a little worrying. Let us know what happens, please.
Cherry - so sorry to hear about your cousin and GL with poisons
Jane - GL for Tax 2; armpits are getting a wee bit long now, may need to take these merkins off; getting a bit warm in this weather.

We had a fantastic day out in Whitby yesterday complete with seaside fish’n’chips and brilliant sunshine. Since my DX 3 months ago (SO long?!) it’s the first time I’ve been more than 30 minutes from the hospital/home. I had to keep sitting down a lot, though, and had to slip up to bed for a while when we got home. The Tax Tiredness really becomes more obvious when I’m not just pottering round the house.
Rhona-just to echo everyone else-think you should get it checked out. Take care x
Ninja-seaside sounds good to me. Did you plait the armpits for the beach? We’re in the Midlands so no seaside anywhere near, but might just sneak in a trip to Welsh coast-just what i need right now. Glad you had a bit of a break and a good time.
Good luck Cherryorchard with you poisons tomorrow and to everyone else having them this week.
I’m making the most of next 3 days before TAX1, meeting friends today and going out for lunch. The good days are extra special now aren’t they?
Sending positive vibes to everyone I haven’t mentioned. Hope your SEs are all minor.
Love Rachel x
I am just back from a lovely netball weekend in Brean Sands with my u15 team. We didn’t win but had a fab time.
Rhona- Arm doesn’t sound good, hope you have got it sorted or are getting it looked at today!
Poleprincess- i had the bunged up stomach, was given movicol which took 4 days to work, this time i just ate so many strawberries i ended up the opposite and couldn’t stay off the toilet!
Smiles- I am doing the Take That concert tomorrow, can’t wait!
Good luck to all of you having poisons this week.
I am trying to cram in as much as possible this week, having TAX1 on Monday:-( Very nervous and worried about new side effects, hoping i can handle the TAX truck if and when it comes!!
I am off for my pampering Look Good Feel Better today! Looking forward to my bag of goodies.
Thanks for all advice- movicol did not work at all and i was on lactalose and some other soidum ducophase or something??? kinda worked but in the end enema only thing but i was ahhhemm Impacted badly GROSS!!!
