He was then upset and came home early! I am going out tomorrow for lunch. They are good friends, and will understand if I am a bit low. got another phone call to go for another MRI. You know I dont evwn know what its for. Pauline. xxx

Take care

Hi
I am new to the forum. I am starting chemo today and feeling terrified. Can’t eat or sleep through worrying. I love the support you are all giving each other and wanted to join you
Karen
Morning my lovely chicks, welcome to Mandymoo too, sorry you’ve joined this thread but it really will help you get through it!
Lynne, I swear by the lactulose! Just took some this morning and well…!!!
Donna, so sorry to hear that you have to wait until next week, but it will be for the best as your body is too poorly to cope.
morning Pauline! You brighten my morning with your continual positive attitude and messages of support, thank you
Day two and no sickness. Had what I think Pauline described as the ‘FEC flop’ yesterday. I got really restless at around 2 pm and then at 5 I could barely get my head off the cushion. I said night to the kids and was in bed and asleep before the 4 year old!
Ok this morning, still feel a little tired so am not moving from the bed until at least midday!
Love to all xx
Constipation! A pain in the ass! It was my main bug bear last time. Can you get lactulose over the counter? Does it work in the same way as Dulcoease, which is very gentle but takes at least 2 days? Onc nurse suggested Movicom. Anyone tried this?
Hi all.lactulose is what they use at my hosp. works same day and you dont get that horrible crampy feeling. you can either buy it over counter or by prescrition. xxx
Hi ladies… Friday again…the weekend comes so quick.
Quinny, good luck today. Thinking of you sending hugs. X
Mandymoo… Welcome to our nest. I had 2 onc appointments and started in the 3rd week after initial appointment. there are guidelines and up here in Glasgow area we are generally quite quick. I think tho it will be soon. The sooner you start the sooner you finish. X
Bowels…I didn’t get constipation. I had more frequent bowel movements, loose but not diarrhoea, this time however… Hardly anything… I went mibee 3 times. But OMG is it sore… I think it’s the chemicals burning the delicate skin or something… Just a guess. I used baby wipes and Vaseline but got little comfort. Is this just me?
Corsodyl… I use this twice a day and so far fine, any wee mouth issues have quickly cleared.
On a positive note can I say my side effects have been less this time. Not as sickly, not as bad bowels, more energy…
My hair which as hung on in there is now quite thin, shorter and I have a bald patch at the back, just where my head rubs the pillow or the couch. I haven’t washed it in well over week, god bless dry shampoo lol.
If I’ve went anywhere I’ve put on my wig or a bandanna, don’t know why im hanging on…think it’s coz I have so much of it still there and I can’t see the bald bit lol. My friend is back her hols soon so I will get her to shave it, I have hair everywhere… It’s very annoying btw… Totally understand why ladies would shave it. Still waiting on my legs to follow lol
Well done and very brave Pauline… Big hug x
So sorry Karen. Welcome to the Diamond Chicks. We are like one big family. I have no biological sisters, but my goodness, I’ve plenty here. Its a great place to come to good days or sh** days. we have all been where you are now, yes, its scary, but hand on heart, nowhere near as bad as what you think. up ur fluids and remember to take ice pops or a flask of ice cubes to take when getting the chemo. stops sore mouth and ulcers developing. dont try and be a hero, listen to ur body, take anti sickness pills and get lots of rest. We are all there with you. love and (((hugs))). Xzx
Morning all. Sorry you are having problems .Lynne. I was given laxative sachets which seemed to work ok, also try prunes if you like them or figs. Eli good to know things are ok for you at moment, I’ve got my 2nd chemo due in about 10 days so don’t know how I will be with that although I feel fine now. Hannah I couldn’t sleep at night either for a few days, think it’s the steroids. Karen, welcome and you will be fine, everyone is terrified before 1st chemo but all will be well. Going to have my horrible bushy wig cut next week, got to get it looking half-way near decent before I have to wear the thing. Xx
I am Pauline by the way.xxx
Sorry, of course you are Pauline. Chemo brain! Xx
Lactulose all the way. I got it over the counter. Felt a bit crampy this morning and took two 5ml… Did the trick with in about 20mins!
X
Hi Guys,
Its been a couple of weeks since I last posted. Ive had two chemo so far and my third is due next week. I have been terribly ill through the chemo. Sixkness dizziness etc. No bowel movement and really bad dry eyes etc. The oncologist and nurses have just said that they need to get the aanti sickness meds right and its trial and error. Last time I had twelve nurses and two doctors in my house over the weekend injecting me. i can honestly say that I am so anxious about getting the third one. Hopefully they will get the meds right for me this time. Its so hard for my husband and my teo young children to see me that way.
I shaved my hair 14 days after my first chemo as it was sole distroying seeing it all fal out with patches. I have a lovely wig but just cant wear it. I have decided that Im happier in bandanas even though you do get the sympathy looks. I will keep you all posted. Tak Care x
Hi kathbury, I think we are at cross purposes. I sent texr welcoming Karen and forgot to say who I was, hence 2nd text saying Im Pauline by the way. Think I have drain brain. xx
