Hi. Just realised I forgot to mention family. I’m married with 3 sons 23, 20 and 17. Debtex hi. Hope you’re ok after your chemo today. Let us know how you’re getting on. You can have a good moan at all of us and no doubt we’ll all do the same. Xxx
Hi Kerena. Sorry to hear about all the uncertainty with your diagnosis. Hope you hear soon. It must be awful waiting for that. Fingers and toes crossed and hugs to you xxx
Hi ladies had a good night sleep so far so good . If your having ur chemo and cold cap next week please don’t be scared . The fear was worse than the reality for me . Top tip … Wee as much as u can before u are hooked up my only discomfort was wanting to wee an hour in . Best of luck to those starting next wk xx
Debtex thanks for the update - so pleased you’re feeling well - long may it continue. Keep us posted! Hope everyone is feeling good today. Julie x
Debtex so glad to hear you’re doing well. Hope that continues. Sue I had my heart scan yesterday and it was no problem. Really easy. Dreading my pre chemo appointment. Everyone seems to be stressed after it. It just makes it so real I suppose. I’ve had a few down moments since I saw the oncologist on Wednesday. Same thing I think. Suddenly I feel like a chemo patient. Keep well everyone and keep us posted on how you’re doing xxxx
Hi chook and Zoe have ur flu jab either b4 chemo or in the 3 rd wk when ur a on the up again . It won’t do u any harm before that but won’t be as effective . U won’t want the hassle either ! This is my advice from b c nurse at Christies
Debtex are you being treated at the Christie ? I had my radiotherapy there. They were wonderful xxxxxx
Yes I’m pleased to say so ! It’s very busy and I had a long wait yesterday BUT they are just fantastic and I trust them . Nothing is too much trouble and they don’t rush you . The added extras such as the wig service ,macmillan etc are superb x
Ahh that is great Deb, I live in Handforth & had my chemo at Macclesfield General bit radiotherapy at the Christie. Everyone I have met I’m the last year has been fantastic xxxxxx
Hi Chook,
I’m so sorry that you can’t have chemo. That and RT are the only weapons in our arsenal aren’t they? The positive thing is your nodes were clear, like mine. We have to pray nothing is lurking. Hopefully they will monitor you in more detail. How did it go with the shadows on your spine, has that been sorted? I’m having the flu jab on Wednesday and my chemo starts on Friday all being well. Had my heart scan yesterday so I hope that’s ok. I am being referred to cancer genetics but I haven’t had an appointment yet. They did say it will take ages. Hoping that I don’t carry the gene, especially for my mums sake (she’s only 56) but she has yearly mammograms and is ok so far and I’ve been nagging her to check herself regularly But, if I do they’ll both have to come off, simple as that!
Take care xx
Hi Zoe. I have the BRCA1 gene and I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction and it wasn’t as bad as I expected so if you test positive it’s not as terrible as you might think.
Chook I’m so sorry you can’t have chemo. I know how you’ll feel about that but the fact that the cancer hasn’t spread to your nodes is at least a big positive. The chances are high that there is nothing left behind and you never have another problem with it.

Hi Junash. Glad you enjoyed your pre chemo dinner. I did the same with friends on Thursday. It was also my birthday so I got some pressies too lol. We had a lovely dinner and then went out for cocktails. It was great to be able to talk to and laugh with my fab pals for a wee change. X
Morning everyone :smileyhappy:
Happy birthday Lainie for last week. I am just reading all the chat and there is so much to take in, everyone is going through such a tough time.
Off for afternoon tea with a twist (cocktails - I hope) with a good friend so I guess this is my pre chemo meal. Trying to get ready and put a bit of make-up on but suddenly burst into tears thinking about pre chemo visit tomorrow, I really need to pull my self together.
Think I will ask about a pic line as I really don’t like needles.
Hope everyone stays strong this week and we will get through this.
Enjoy your afternoon Mel xx
Enjoy Mel x
Oh my, i have my pre chemo next friday and imagined it was a bit of a pep talk and easy going walk through…seems I’m being sooooo naive Please will one of you lovely ladies put me out of my misery and give me the low down on what to expect? I’m needle phobic but have talked myself into believing i will cope with all the bloods, injections and chemo…but now I’m not so sure (needed sedation for the biopsies). Got my 1st chemo bloods first thing tomorrow, so it’s under starters orders!!!
Good luck and hugs to all starting treatment next week x
Just had my last night out before chemo. Hubby and I went to see a comedy show (absolutely hilarious) then had a nice meal. Now time to concentrate on starting my chemo this week. Good luck to all who are starting this week xxx?
Good luck every starting this week . My advice is baby steps take each stage at a time . Take the anti sickness meds as they tell u and hopefully u will be fine . Xx
Morning you lovely ladies.
Going to go and get ready for my pre chemo visit before Wednesday - this is starting to feel so real.
Good luck and big hugs to everyone who is starting this week, we will come out fighting x
