starting chemo tomorrow

Hello all,

I’m a newbie here too.   I found out yesterday afternoon that I’ll be starting neo-avujant AC chemo tomorrow morning and had a couple of hours to decide whether I wanted to try the cold cap.  I’m going to try it but my head is aching already just at the thought of it.  I’ve coped really well up until now and this afternoon feel like my world has just collapsed…

This is just a blip…right?

Hi Judith,

Yes it’s a blip. Those nerves about the unknown. Once in that comfy chair the nurses will take good care of you. You can decide if you want to continue or stop with the cap it’s all flexible. It’s a lot to digest and everyone has an opinion so just go with the flow with the knowledge that you are in the best hands.

You will get there!

Hi Judith63,

there is a lively June chemo thread running at the moment and you can find it on this link.

It may be of help with some tips, as well as finding out how others are getting on - plus it is fun, too!

Good luck with your treatment and hoping for a lack of side effects for you.

Thanks ladies,

I’m glad I tried the cold cap, it wasn’t as bad as I expected.  Very heavy though, that took me by surprise.  A legitimate excuse for a good neck and shoulders massage I reckon!  So far no other major side effects, but going to bed now .  Thanks for the link, I’ll have a look tomorrow.
