Starting chemo

My name is Angie and was diagnosed in November due to start chemo in march … I have had a lumpectomy lymph nodes removed and reconstruction. … feeling very anxious about starting chemo read lots about it . Wishing you lovely ladies all the very best on your journeys. Reading your story’s is helping me to feel that iam not a lone… I do have a very surportive family …I will looking at the march thread when it starts but trying to get a few tips from you lovely ladies first … sending hugs to you all x

Hello Angie and welcome, has anyone told you about the cold cap? Some people are able to keep quite a lot of their hair if they are willing to use the cold cap. It is like a swimming hat that keeps your head very cold and the chemo does not reach the hair folicles. It can be uncomfortable but I used it very sucessfully.

My chemo and radiotherapy are behind me now so if you have any questions that I can answer I would ne glad to. Watch out for the March thread it should be up and running soon xxx

Hi blue ash thank you for your kind words x I’ve read about cold cap but I have very fine hair and most probably fall out as it doesn’t always work on fine hair xx but thank you for telling me about it really appreciate any advice xx love Angie

Hi Angie pink65

The March thread is up! - so perhaps have a look at the initial post and explore the links in preparation?

I finished my chemo and radiotherapy on 26th October 2016 - and you are definitely not alone.

Perhaps, if you wish to - share on the March thread, what your chemo regime is likely to be and perhaps also some questions you may have?

Hugs

Sue x
