Hello have just joined the “club” and found advice and experience on this forum a great support so far. I had my surgery yesterday- lumpectomy and full node clearance. I’m IDC grade 3 er/pr+ve her2-ve so expecting chemo next and feeling positive whatever happens there’s good support from everyone here. Thank you
Hi @susan501 hope surgery went well and you’re soon healed. Welcome to the club.
We are similar as I’m also stage 3, er/pr+ but her2+ too, so am having chemo first. Your post has calmed me a little thinking I’ll be able to get away with lumpectomy (although know it’s still a patient by patient thing), so thank you!
Welcome @susan501. You sound like you’re coping brilliantly with this difficult time, but this positivity will help you get the job done. My diagnosis was over a year ago and similar, though i am grade 2. Chemo is not like in the movies and i found it manageable. I’m currently waiting for radiotherapy. We are all here for you and you will find the answers to most concerns across the forum and all of the website’s information pages. All the best. X
Hello , I had my surgery in Tuesday. Wide lumpectomy, therapeutic mammoplasty & full node clearance. How are you feeling? I’m very stiff but doing ok I think. Never had surgery before so didn’t know what to expect but all the staff at the hospital were lovely. Ended up staying overnight as I took a while to come round from the anaesthetic. I have a drain which is annoying but necessary. Really surprised how phlegmy I am! Just about to do my morning exercises now the pain killers have kicked in, how are you finding them? Take care, we’ve made a start on this mission now x
Hello @twinks77 nice to hear from you. Not feeling too bad now having taken some painkillers but felt like I’d been hit by a bus in the middle of the night as I think final effects of anaesthetic and strong hospital drugs wore off. Have also just done my exercises . Luckily my surgeon doesn’t use drains so I think that has been a plus! Take care too and we can do this x
