Kaz - take a few deep breaths you’re doing just fine. Remember the stuff is doing it’s job of zapping any nasties that may have been left behind. I’m so glad you didn’t have any pain this time.
Take care

Hi all
Kaz - Sorry you are feeling down after your last chemo and yes I like the idea of a new thread from the new year.
I feel really down - just come back from hospital after scan on my sore arm. I have a blood clot in the top of the arm and will need to have daily injections from a district nurse until the end of March and tablets for 3 months after this. Have seen 4 doctors since Christmas Eve and all told me it was nothing serious including my onc this morning.
Does this illness never give up - feel as though its laughing at me at each turn and I wont win!! Sorry for feeling down - just another thing to cope with.
Janvis
LiF - so sorry you are feeling soooo bad, can’t offer anything but hugs and hope that you feel better soon xxxx
Kaz - breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. Try to think of the nasties delivered by the chemo zapping the even worse nasties in you, and ensuring that none are left xxxx
Janvis - we have to keep plugging away with these health professionals - wrong but true, hope the treatment alleviates the symptoms very soon xx
Week to go until FEC3, bring it on as I am half way through then…
Lots of love to all
Hugs
SJ xx
Janvis - what a bugger. At least they have located the clot before it’s had an opportunity to dislodge. Take care
Reeb x
so sorry to hear that janvis. its good they are on top of it and at least the injections will make it go away and stop happening.
however it is like you tick one thing off and then add another to the list to replace it. !!! but at least things are gettting ticked off.
i have looked at the bc thing and the year i have allowed it as a check list, every appointment ect ect. and it does show how far we have come even when we dont feel it.
thanx reeb, im still breathing, lol and thanx sj
xxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks everyone for keeping up my spirits
Its good to see a different point of view. I keep a diary everyday but maybe a list of all appointments would help me to see how far I have come.
They will still allow me to have FEC 4 on the 4th.
Janvis
good gal, youll be suprised when u see them all being crossed off
Lif
Sorry your feeling so poorly i am sure in the next few days the se’s will pass. I know they reduced my dose yesterday because of the se’s so im hoping i dont get the achy bones again

LiF - hugs hun - know they don’t help, but also thinking evil kick ass thoughts at your TAX se’s too - hope the mouth probs lift very rapidly, and that your gp can prescribe that mouthwash so you don’t have to pay out massive amounts for it. xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Kaz - I get what you were feeling totally - I felt like that after my 1st dose - I was fine til I got home and then I was ‘oh god, what have they put in me, what’s going to happen’ and had to give myself a stern talking to!!
Janvis - that sucks royally. Hugs to you too xxxxxxxxx
Julie - Get your arm checked out, put your mind at rest. Hugs too xxx

Sorry LIF, Kaz and Janvis that you’re not having a good time at the moment with one thing and another. Hope you all feel better very soon. Sending you lots of hugs.

(yes I was born in 69 whoever was asking before)
This is for Millykins, my chemo ‘twin’… is your hair falling out yet??? <grin> - shall we do a synchronised shave??!!!</grin>
How surreal would that be… internet hair loss…

(Hope yours is being more staunch and stalwart than mine - or at least that you are more capable of not pulling at it out of curiosity like I do… )
Ang - 69 was a vintage year

SJ,
Loving your T-shirt, did you order this from Pinchypants?
A question for all fellow shaven heads - have any of you got any spots or rashes? hubby shaved my head about 5 days ago and i’ve since got a rash behind my right ear although it doesn’t appear to be a shaving rash as its not red or itchy, i think it may be where my wig rubs? Just wondered if i should cream my head or just leave it alone? Also my wig is really big on my head as i’ve got a little head so its quite uncomfortable?
Love to everyone
Sarah X
Sarah - my wig feels quite big on my head too, but not sure what we can do about that? Haven’t got any rashes, but maybe you could rub a bit of aqueous cream (or similar)in at bed time.
Janvis - what a shame about your arm, but at least you know it’s getting sorted and you will get through it along with everything else. Also good that FEC4 not being delayed.
LIF - so sorry you’re feeling rough, You definately don’t sound like someone who’s going to give in to things but maybe a day or two on the sofa and a bit of self-indulgence will help…from what others have said you should start to feel better very soon and then look forward to some walks and fresh air.
Thanks everyone. I have calmed down a little from the shock now.
Julie - I had pins and needles after the chemo but not all the time. The main area of pain was in the arm when I stretched out my hand in front of me and then turned it over so the palm then faced the ceiling so dr’s felt it was an aggravated vein which is the most common (so do not assume your arm is blocked - but please get it checked to be on the safe side).
My elbow also swelled a little and I had an ache under the armpit. Temperature was also slightly raised. Other than that nothing else. The dr did say this condition is common for cancer patients and would normally go away itself if we were not having chemo. Appparantly, it takes 2 to 6 weeks to disperse on its own for non-chemo patients.
Janvis
Well - I have done the deed (nearly) and hair is now 1 inch long - couldn’t go the whole hog in one go - partly for me & partly for Sophie to get used to the idea of it going. Rob says I look like Hazel O conner (a fat version albeit!)
Good new though - got all the results from my scans today - Heart, bone & CT & they are all clear HURRAH!!!
