Hospital again today, cant remember what for, think it might be rads doctor??? Only had my op 3 weeks ago. We shall see.
Seroma dont seem to be filling as fast, the skin there feels very funny, leathery, almost. Cant feel anything there either.
Feel quite overwhelmed with things at the moment. Feel all happy and then remember that i still have rads to go, another op and keep reading the lymphodeama threads and panicking, then remember lif and how she carries on as normal and feel ok again! Moods are up and down like a up and downy thing!

Hi Guys, been on holiday so not been around on a puter much! Kerry you are doing sooooo well! Keep going sweetie and it will pass in a flash…honest! I can honestly say I am just about back to normal…what ever that is! Yes I have a numb arm pit and am numb down to my elbow at back of arm, yes I’m not so fit as I was but am getting back to horse riding as a result of a few forum users!
I still have herceptin every 3 weeks and that is flippin nasty…getting the needles in…yuk! …Oh and the tamoxifen! But otherwise I am happy to be here and keep on keeping on! I have bought 2 goats who are arriving on Sunday and am going back to producing my own milk…so life gets exciting.

Been for a rads planning appointment. Got told to cancel my holidays, because ‘i will have other summers’ and rads is much more important than anything else. Told her never in a month of sundays am i not going on holidays. She twittered on for a bit, i got wound up, then she agreed to me starting rads on 22nd august, then said that there was a canadian study that said rads could start up tp 20 weeks after surgery with no adverse effects. Dr was astounded that i have so little help and have to rely on buses. These consultants live VERY cocooned lives. Trying for appointments as soon as rads dept opens, then i can get rob to drop us off and kids can sit in the cafe with there ds’s or rob can take them to work with him and i will go and get them after i have been zapped. Feel crap now, really upset. She pulled my arm up high too, and disagreed with me when i said i was told not to put my arm above shoulder level for another 3 weeks. Bah! I hate this cancer crap.

lif, hope your hoilbob was good and fab yoru getting new goats. i agree with you, i have numb armpit and back of arm to elbow, and tamoxifen. poo about the herceptin, theres a few of u on that. just think its another weapon against the nasty beasties.
i went and saw take that. aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh robbie is such a god. however since i had my throat op im unable to scream. and when i did id end up coughing, so i mimmed.
supposed to see onc tommorow but as skools are shut im having the girls, so have had to cancel to next week.
saw councellor today , last session. . shame, but its been very very helpful.

Have made appointment for my hair colour…eeeeek…then will be going wigless!!! Just getting a semi=permanent colour to blend the grey in. Will be trying hard to rock my pixie - do:))))
Busy weekend coming up- doing sponsored walk on saturday, for will’s rugby team and then waddington airshow on sunday.

girls were fab today, they made bday cards for my mom, and i got upset like a mong. so i tried to tell them that they know kazzie wazzie had medicine and got better, well nanny ann isnt going to get as better as me. and they gave me hugs. bless. we then had baked spuds fpr dinner and went the park. i enjoyed it.

Still upset about stupid rads doctor. Have spoken to my bcn and am gonna ring pals tomorrow and let them know how upset I am. Will mention the fact she was wearing a very low cut top, boobs hanging out, not the most choice piece of clothing to wear when treating us lovely bc ladies. Been crying on and off all day, because of her attitude towards me. patronising c*w!

Good on you Kerry for complaining. She shouldn’t have said that about your holiday and a low cut top is so unsubtle and inappropriate for where she works. I have to see the stony faced onc tomorrow (she who told me not to invest in a pension, as you can’t draw them until you’re 55…). She sees patients as case studies not people.
Work is tough after little sleep due to the stupid tamoxifen flushes. I’m not in again til Tues though as I have lovely Hercpetin again on Monday (poor veins). I went swimming on one of my non-working days this week. Did 40 lengths but can’t do back stroke any more as it pulls on my scar.
Kaz, get some Alpecin from Boots - your hair will soon start growing like mad. I bet you wouldn’t dump Andy for Robbie Williams cos you’d miss the girls too much.

Kaz-send the tanks!! We can sort pam’s horrid lady out too!!! I have been using some Lee Stafford grow longer intensive conditioner, dunno if that has made the difference to my growth??? Am growing hair everywhere, even my chin hair has returned!
Scared the postman today…no hair, bright orange from fake tan (just the guide colour that washes off) and no bra so wobbly AND wonky, tatty rugby shirt n a pair of robs boxers! Sooooooo glam!!
Met my friend today, havnt seen her since before my op, told me I was looking well and that if she had known how well I was looking she would’ve made more of an effort.
Out for friends birthday meal tonight. Keep pulling wires from my old bra’s so I can wear pretty underwear:-)))
Bah!!! Just spoke to my mum, told her how much the dr upset, she started telling me how her friend had chicken pox. Not much more you can say to that!!! Upset again. Wish she was even just a bit interested. Hohum.

Onc yesterday was not too bad. Maybe she has had some training in being nice to people. Anyway, she asked whether my skin had settled down after RADs and I told her I hadn’t really had any soreness and no blistering just a square patch that looks tanned. She kept asking about my skin and I felt a bit apologetic that I hadn’t had problems. Lol. I told her about hot flushes on tamoxifen and she asked whether my periods stopped on chemo and I said they did. She said the hot flushes should ease when my periods come back. I had thought they wouldn’t come back on tamoxifen but she said it doesn’t stop them. When I have been away recently I haven’t tkane any supplies with me, just as well I didn’t start. So shaving legs and the possibility of periods :0(.
She also said they might be offering herceptin at home in future - might be good now I’m back at work. I think LiF anf LiF’s daughter have it at home.
Kerry, mothers are always annoying wittering on about people you don’t even know. The only comfort is she was probably listening to you and will be doing a “my poor daughter being treated like that” line to all her friends who don’t know you.

thats one of the funniest post yet Kaz - and it hit me at just the right time to get me out of my morning “low” -anyone else feel low in a morning? i get better as the day goes on.
i’m thinking i may need to shave my legs too but wondering why hair on my head growing slower than anywhere else it seems?.

kerry - perhaps you should scare the rads lady doctor like you did the postman!! ive now also got an image of you sitting wrecking all your unddies. with the rads -could they delay it another week until the kids are back at school if that would make life easier for you? might be worth asking?. also, my mom sometimes seems remote but i think perhaps they have trouble accepting what we their daughters are going thorugh.
nottsgal - hang on in there with onc n hot flushes, interesting that periods can come back on tamoxifan-did she say how long it would be before they came back??
i hope mine dont come back cos onc said he wanted them to stop n dont like to think what they will do to me if the periods return.
hot flushes are yuk aaent they? - i have just spent silly money on a tower fan for my bedroom from argos and it is brilliant- highly recommend it - a friend told me about it - it is great because it has got a remote control so i can wake up sweating and just turn on the fan- im sure it has helped the last couple of nights. ive also got a 4.5 tog duvet pillows both called “cool as a cucumber” from argos.
two kids with their dad this weekend, (i hate it) and third comes back off holiday tomorrow. wish i could accept and appreciate the time alone but i loath it.hey

LA, no she didn’t say how long before they come back but she seemed to think they would. My nextdoor niece who had BC 11 years ago was given Zoladex to stop her periods. It was an injection into the stomach - sounds horrible.

Pam and Claire- my surgeon told me that periods come back on tamoxifen, but can be a lot heavier or a lot lighter than pre-chemo. Nice:-))
Claire - I feel down a lot of the time, just a heavy feeling that I cant shake, it’s like I’ve got a monkey on my shoulder whispering reminders about getting too smug. I cry a lot too. Not feeling sorry for myself, seems to be some kind of release of emotions.

Today I noticed my eyebrows are growing back, grey!!! Need to shave my legs, pits and lady garden too, thought it might grow back all downy like my head hair, but it’s grown thick and black. Tried to use some immaculate, but it stung. Bah!!!
Did the sponsored walk today, 4 miles. Back and boob are hurting now though. The full team did it, and not one child complained, surprisingly.
There where lots of ladies doing a collection for breakthrough breast cancer today, i couldn’t look at them, too raw, too soon.

went shopping today to get the girls some clothes for hoilday, , i picked them, and thought id get oooo i dont like that i like this, but they loved them in the changing room. then when we come home they did a fashion show for andy.
andy and i had a chat tonight, about the i want to move in, and andy not being ready. i got upset, and he said he has to make sure it is all ok and we are sure it wil work, as he has to protect the girls. but i am right and he will have to look at it as he knows im amazing but just needs to get his head around it. at the moment its safe. he said when im back at work, we will be in more of a normal routine then he can see how it will work. as i help with a lot at the moment.
mmmm im just too impatient. it is good and i stay here loads. i shouldnt push. he will come round in his own time.

got back from centerparcs yesterday shattered but had fab time. No one batted an eyelid at me & my slightly wonky falsie in my cossie & my crew cut red hair except a little boy who only commented on the bright colour which is fine by me!!!
saw wonderful animals at longleat too & got attacked by a naughty monkey - we never been in before as my car got wrecked years ago so have always skipped it but decided to chance it this time -only 1 piece of trim broken this time & worth it for the fun- have posted a film on facebook!!!
BTW - my skin has broken on my neck & is V sore under bra line - any advice for how to sooth it other than aloe vera???

Sorry long time no post, this work business really mucks up your social life. Finally got myself onto fb so managed to see Val’s wedding pictures - gosh I wish I looked that good.

Had the shock of my life this morning. Had to go into school at 4am to see the kids off to France and one of the mum’s has shaved her hair off because of all things - she saw how much it suited me and thought she would give it a go! Far too raw for me, it’s not a hair style I can relate to other than with bc. But hey I’ve never ever seen myself as a leader of fashion!!
I got myself a load of hand fans (chinese affairs) and have them scattered all over the house. Nights sweats are terrible, I got a coolmax sheet from M&S but I like the idea of a remote fan. Was given a different brand of tamoxifen and I’m waiting to see if it’s any different.
Enjoy the sun. Today isn’t a work day so I’m out gardening having caught up on sleep following my early morning trip to school.
