Starting Radiotherapy

Hi all

Im starting radiotherapy on 27th Feb 2023 for 5 days. I have sensitive skin suffer with Eczema so I was wondering what creams/soap would be recommended?

Silly me I should have asked all this in my planning CT but with everything going on I completely forgot.

Thank you in advance and hope you are all doing as well as can be :two_hearts:

I used a cream created by British radiologist Jasmin Jones. It doesn’t have any of the ingredients you have to avoid and it’s vegan friendly. Although it’s a bit more expensive than I would usually spend, it was so worth it. Soothing, hydrating and it did it’s job so well.

Kirstyf , there’s a post called February radiotherapy starters . There’s a list of skincare products on there that is recommended when having radiotherapy,

I have just finished, been using flamigel rt , I have sensitive skin

good luck x

Dear Kirstie,

Firstly, wishing you well, and lots of luck with your radiotherapy,

Hopefully you will not be too uncomfortable I have very sensitive skin and found one of the best cream to use was zinc and cast oil a very old-fashioned cream which mums used to use on babies bottoms I found this particularly soothing you can buy this on the baby counter in the chemist it’s very cheap to buy.

Good luck with your treatment pop back on the forum and let us know how you doing. Drink plenty of water.
