Starting ribociclib

I am having my first Zolendric acid infusion on Monday and being given my ribociclib tablets to start. At my pre-assessment I was told there was no problem starting both on the same day but I am wondering if I should delay the ribociclib till I know what the side effects from the ZA will be like. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hello - I had exactly the same worries when I was starting Ribociclib and having my Zoledrenic acid infusion on the same day but my nurse was really reassuring and told me that it wasn’t an issue at all. I also got the impression that the side effects of the infusion would, in general, be short term, whereas the ribo ones might last longer and potentially differ each cycle. I might be totally wrong on this but that was how it seemed when I had mine. I was very lucky in that I felt fine after my infusion but I did drink loads of water and also got an early night! Ribo - touch wood - seems ok for now. Know this could all change but you have to celebrate when things seem ok don’t you?! Good luck with it all xxx

That’s really useful information - you have put my mind at ease. This forum is brilliant  Thanks x

Hello pearl2,

Thanks for posting asking about having ribociclib and zoledronic acid at the same time.

Although you can have them at the same time, some people do decide to space out treatments for a little while to see what side effects they may have. As @tryingnottogoogle explains she took them at the same. It’s really a personal decision.
