I’m six months out of TC in September and whilst I think a lot of my ongoing side effects are due to Letrozole and Zoladex injections, it’s only now that my nails are almost back to normal on my hands. I lost a big toe nail this month after all this time! My eyebrows have gone again but finally after falling out twice my lashes are almost fully grown.
Let’s not even talk about the hair on my head…full salt and pepper poodle perm coming in! I had my first haircut a couple of weeks ago and had the sides trimmed and some weight taken off the top. Ridiculous!
I’m nine weeks post chemo, and it’s been a struggle but symptoms are beginning to improve. My main concern was bone pain in my pelvis, I still get that but it’s more manageable and it’s very rare I have pain relief for it now, seems to flare mainly at night. I also have peripheral neuropathy in my hands feet which again is getting more manageable. Sweats throughout the day but more at night are sometimes a little bit of a problem but all doable.My fingernails and toenails have taken a hit also, they’re discoloured, ridged and weak. My hair this last week as started to grow faster, I’ve had slight fuzz for a while but hair definitely coming now!I still have an occasional nap through the day.
