Hi…just thought I’d write to release the tension a bit. Went to breast clinic last Fri following referral from my GP after I found a lump in my breast. Had ultrasound and a biopsy, go for results on 9th May. Have been staying pretty calm, but it’s beginning to catch up with me. Aside from the lump, I’ve been struggling with pain in the mid section of my back, and around my ribs, and been even more tired than usual. This has been going on for several weeks. I’ve been putting it down to just one of my quirky symptoms - I have fibromyalgia so tend to get a fair bit of pain and tiredness - but I’m starting to worry that it may be connected to the lump. The doctor at the clinic suspects fibroadenoma, but until the results are back, I’m in limbo. Sorry to off load, have been trying to keep everything calm, but the wait is getting to me. Unfortunately, my partner had to how away the day after my first appointment and isn’t home until bank hol Monday, so that’s not helping.
Hi CelticK
Waiting for results is so difficult. You might find it helpful to give our helpline a call to talk things over. They’ll be able to offer you practical information as well as emotional support. The opening times are 9-5 on weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays. The number is 0808 800 6000
Take care
Very best wishes

Hi Celtick
sorry to hear you are going through this worry.
it’s difficult to explain to people that this is one of the most difficult time. The worry and stress. It must be worse not having your partner around for support.
if the doctors had thought it was anything sinister they would have told you however you will worry until you get the test results.
try and keep busy, phone the helpline if you need talked down, and post on here. The time will pass but we all know the torture of waiting. I feel for you.
take care
