Staysure Travel Insurance Claim

Hey Everyone
So we booked our holiday and I took out Staysure insurance the top package just to be on safe side, but two days before we was supposed to be going my consultant had declared me not fit to fly due to a infection in my breast. As he had cut it open and it’s a open wound.
I put a claim in on that day 29/8 and now it’s 15/9 and still not heard anything back from the insurance group…
Anyone ever bought and received their money x

I was with staysure for my holiday and same thing found out I had breast cancer and had to cancel holiday for years and surgery. Had to provide doctors notes and they needed to confirm what I was saying took forever. My partner was with the post office for his insurance they didn’t want to cause him any distress so refunded all his money hotel and flight without proof. I got a percentage back, not even half. I would never recommend them and I told them so in the review. I wish you all the best x

I know Staysure covers pre-existing conditions but you would still need to let them know you were having this procedure before you went in for the investigation. If you did, then there will be no problems, so I would chase them up.
If you didn’t let them know but believe the ‘wording’ was misleading, then you may need to go to the insurance ombudsman.
I’d recommend speaking to someone like the consumers association (Which), who have a great low-cost advice support service and they can help you if Staysure unfairly deal with your case.

They asked for my sick note which I thought was odd!And not to ask for the letter saying not fit fly.I’ve finally found a phone number too so I’ll be ringing them first thing x

Hey
I didn’t have a clue that that procedure was being done,My consultant just did it on that appointment. And then just looked and said no holiday.I was devastated as we was going two days later x

When you ring tell them you want to raise an official complaint. You can’t actually do it until you have gone through their complaints procedure but it usually makes them prioritise your case and they do everything they can to avoid an official complaint being raised. I used to work for an insurance company and they don’t want the adverse publicity if they get fined for too many.
