Yes, sadly Steph died on Sunday. She used to post on the old BCC forums as StephK and then on the new forums as 5starshiny. She did post on here briefly again when she was diagnsoed with mets in May. Her posts then, as always, were wise and witty. She was one of the women who campaigned early on for herceptin to be available. In the event herceptin was not her wonder drug but that campaigning with dozens of other women has helped to save and prolong others’ lives.
Of her diagnosis with mets she wrote on a thread in May : “I’m not dealing well with sympathy but have told everyone to swear on my behalf instead.”
Steph was great and I shall miss her.My thoughts are particularly with her husband and her two young sons.

Jane, thanks, I knew Steph as 5starshiny and remember her herceptin campaign well. Was so sorry to see her name here a few months ago. Sad News. Thinking of Steph’s family.

I have posted on the other site about Steph, as am absolutely gutted and stunned to hear the news. I didn’t know Steph as such but read all her posts since I joined here, and she was such a brave and sensitive person that I am truly saddened by her death, and the fact she was so young and leaves behind her two young boys and her husband and family.
Rest in peace Steph and condolences to your family.
Love
Dawn
