six weeks ago I went to get discharged post orthopaedic surgery but because I still had pain scans of leg were done. They found DVTs on the scan, further cans showed PEs and suspicious area in liver and breast. Left hospital with a provisional diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer which was confirmed the following week. Was told it was incurable but may be treatable. I’m really struggling with everything as I went to hospital healthy and left with this awful diagnosis before it all I was fit and had no symptoms now courtesy of drugs everything aches and emotionally I feel like someone has turned my whole world upside down - I really don’t know how to deal with this and people don’t understand
LilyB,
That is simply dreadful that you, this must be deeply distressing and shocking and its quite clear why you are struggling to come to terms with the new diagnosis. I wanted to stop in to say something…even though I don’t have experience of the situation you are in. There are many ladies on here who have been where you are, and are currently where you are - on the secondary forums. Some of them will spy this post anyway and will come along, but if you feel you’d like to reach out to them further then pop along to that forum and they’ll be happy to chat. They are on long term treatment plans and are a hopeful, positive and active group…many of whom have lived with secondary diagnoses for many many years and even decades. You don’t say when your primary diagnosis was, or if you are still under the care of a breast cancer nurse? …because it seems to me that you really really need the input of some caring, positive and knowledgeable people right now as you try and rationalise the situation leading to your new treatment plan.

Welcome to our support and its like being hit with a juggernaut with that sort of dx when you list expect it.
I had hip pain for a year and was dx with sciatica , nerve damage and arthritus before my Mets were found.
Now you don’t have to be alone …there are loads of secondary ladies on the thread called " living with secondary bc" who will support you through this so pop over there and maybe join in our private forum where we have games, gardening club and a nice book club running.
Once again welcome …we are like a little family for support and kindness.

They diagnosed the secondary in liver before the primary in breast, which is very small - all happened at same time. Seeing the oncology team and the surgical team. My poor head is still spinning. All happened from 17 November diagnosis the following week. Will visit other forum as well and speak to others.
Thanks for reply

Thanks will check out other forum. Hip was a sporting related injury from years of running. Friends have been fab but they don’t understand what this is like they either want to smother you or ignore you. It will be great to talk to people who are living with something similar
Thanks
