Still worried about bc even after being told my doctors it is not

Hi all, I posted on here about a year ago now and I’m finding myself back in a rut. Last May just before I turned 19 I found a lump in my left breast near the lower side, pain was also present only when touched and it is the same to this day, I went for an ultrasound that May and everything was fine, I was told it was normal glandular tissue overlying my rib, since then I have been to the gp twice with anxiety about it and she said she would give me a breast exam (twice) so I could have peace of mind. Now I’m only just 20 and I’m still struggling with this. I have come off the implant (this was stopping my periods and I didn’t know if the breast pain was because of my cycle) but the breast pain is only there when touched. I have an appointment open the 28th of August and I’m thinking of asking my gp to put me in for another ultrasound (maybe a non urgent one) but my thoughts are am I wasting their time because time and time again I have been told it’s glandular tissue from 3 different doctors. Thank you so much xx

Dear Skyesummer

We done for taking good care of yourself, good luck with your GP appointment next week, I feel sure they will have your best interest at heart.

I think I would make some notes before going to the appointment expressing exactly how you are feeling and what treatment you think is best for you, hopefully you will have a good outcome.

Wishing you health and happiness going forward, please come back, letting us know how you are getting on.

Hi @skyesummer, welcome back to the forum.

I see your appointment is today, so you may be reading this after. I hope it went well and you were able to get some peace of mind.

You’re very considerate to worry about whether you’re wasting their time. We recommend people speak to a GP if they notice changes to their body, and if that’s what you noticed, then it’s a good move to speak to a professional, like you did.

If at any point you wished to speak to one of our team of breast care nurses, you can reach us on freephone 0808 600 8000 (Mon-Fri 9am-4pm; Sat 9am-1pm). Here is more information on this page.

Sending our warmest wishes
Bernard

 you could always have private mammogram usually about £280. Ring your local Nuffield and they will sort it all out. :two_hearts::two_hearts::sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx

Hi all,

Thanks for replying and the lovely messages, I went today and I’m being referred for a non urgent scan. She said she’s not worried, this is another gp that I met with and she did a breast exam and said it’s not concerning but she wants to refer me just to be sure.

I’m glad I got a third opinion as both the previous doctors have said the same thing.
