Hi, I was diagnosed on 7th January with Breast cancer and last week ( Thursday 7th February) had a mastectomy and axillary clearance at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. My consultant surgeon informed me on my post op-visit that I would definably need Chemo and Radiotherapy and I was wondering if there was anyone else in the area at a similar stage to me who would be happy to buddy each other through the coming weeks/months ahead. I got so much support from the ladies also in hospital at the same time as me, that I think it will be great to have someone locally to share our ups and downs.

Hi there,
I’m in Leek, and go to the Christie for treatment. A bit of an old hand now - primary diagnosis in Jun 2008, secondary (bone mets) in Feb 2010. I’m currently on chemo (abraxane and xeloda) although had them interrupted for surgery to repair my dangerously eroded hip and thigh - just out of hospital tonight.
