Had a look around, not sure about this new forum, some good things some not so good at the moment. Anybody know how to get to the first unread post on the thread? Ah well, at least it’s back - I’ll get used to it.
Changed my avatar to a rabbit, did not like the bus (as in "face like the back of…). It was the only furry creature and I do chase them so thought it (nearly) appropriate.
A wedding - how wonderful. I want to be a bridesmaid too. Is the hen party in Norcambe or shall we inflict ourselves on another seaside town? Blockpaul? Skickness? Whatby?

The default setting is to list the posts with newest first. if you go to ‘my profile’ (top right hand side on home page) and choose the ‘preferences’ tab and then ‘thread layout’ you can choose ‘newest first’ or ‘oldest first’. Hope that helps.
Btw, there is a useful ‘help’ option on the irght hand side under the search box on the home page which tells you how to do all manner of things
THis wedding certainly is rushing ahead. RevCat, do we have to call banns for camels? Presumably it IS the camels getting married? Wadja mean I’ve plost the lot?
When I to to bookmarks and click on this thread, I go to what is now page 2, Helen_BCC saying welcome back Benchlanders… any thoughts on what I’m going wrong?
I’m sure the help button is great, but… - there are people that read instructions, and people who push buttons to make something work… Guess which camp I fall into?

MMM you don’t have to stay as a van man - you can choose from a range of pre-loaded things if you go the avatar thingy in the ‘my profile’ page. My guess is that in a week or two we’ll be so used to this new forum we’ll have almost forgotten the old one, never mind the one before that or even the one before the one before that…
Ali, in your privacy settings you can choose to allow ‘friends’ to see some details that aren’t availalble to Jo(e) Public and/or other forum users. The privacy settings are in ‘my profile’ ‘preferences’.
Jane do we have to ‘do’ bans in Benchland? See, we non-coms and Jocks don’t do bans and it’s confusing… :catwink:
I have booked the choir and the bells (the bells will be rung by the fans suspended from the fans suspended by the sky-hooks (keep up at the back)). Busy ironing lace ruffles for choristers and gazillions of lace hankies for the nuptial guests. Rose pink cassocks for the choir? Or turquoise? Or rose pink and turquoise striped?

Hahaha RevCat. I just noticed the thread appears to be called ‘wedding checks’. On a BC site that could pull people in who will be wondering what BC checks they need to make - on themselves or a partner - before their wedding! They will be TOTALLY bemused by the apparent need for pink vicar outfits, spiders and camels?!

Nearly came a cropper! WHO threw those marbles instead of confetti?? Delia looked divine…and we have a lovely photo of little Millie dog walking behind, with the hem of the veil gently gripped between her teeth.
All went swimmingly - except for the bit when the Rev said ‘Speak now or forever hold your peace’. What a kerfuffle when my ex, Daphne, rushed forward! The horror of it! Luckily one of the bridesmaids tripped her up and muffled her cries. Phew! So now we are officially Man& Wife!
Oh dear! Hump has requested the DJ plays Camel camel camelion and the wedding dress appears to be inside-out now. Milton has revealed the secret surprise: under the dance floor is a special ice rink as Dink sooo loves skating, but they forgot to warn everyone before the great reveal and now there are several soggy handbags and more than a few sore behinds! Chaos!
Cannot get the posts to work in order, every time I click on Benchland it never starts at the newest post it starts about the middle of the thread so have to manually keep clicking page no 1 (newest posts first) or page 342 if I change it to oldest first, anyone help cause it’s so annoying xx
