Stop feeling guilty, small rant (BENCHLAND) (Part 1)

Norecame is so quiet tonight. A lot of tea has been drunk, fish’n’chips devoured (even me…with no repercussions! :D) 3 tongues have rattled nonstop for 7 hours. Not a camel in sight!

HELLO from Scarborough!!! Can you see me waving frantically from the castle???

Have a wonderful time…

Grumpy

HELLO grumpy *waves*

We had another great day. Broke all records for chatting. Camels arrived for afternoon tea.
So lucky with the weather: despite heavy rain forecast all pm, only light rain while we were outside and heavy rain when inside, watching it through huuuge windows (not cooking in the sun this year! :)), eating scrummy afternoon tea.
They gave us a box for the leftovers and I’ve just scoffed a mini éclairs and, “accidentally”, a fruit tart. Nom.
My “<3% fat platter” certainly wasn’t, but it was delicious and I’ve not suffered for it…or the 1/2 pint lager later on. Such a wonderful novelty.
MMU4 already being planned!!

So busy blathering, I nearly missed my train! :stuck_out_tongue:
Had a great time. Love my camel and bracelet (- which wearing as anklet as it fell off my new skinny wrists! :)) My walking boots will soon be glow in the dark with their new flashing laces!
Already looking forward to next year! Safe journeys home girls. xx

I’m safely home and sitting on the knackered bench.  Seven and a half hours!  I only stopped once for half an hour at services near Worcester.  Traffic round Birmingham trying to get from the M6 to the M5 was horrendous.  It took me an hour and 10 minutes to travel eight miles!!!  Then got stuck again at Taunton getting off the M5 ,only 25 miles from home, soooooo not needed.  The idiot that wrote the route planner that says it’s 4hrs 47 mins ought to be shot!

Weather here worse than Morecambe.  Hope it’s better tomorrow for the garden makeover.

Could fancy a Pendle Witches Brew but will have to make do with a muggatea.

Thank you girls, for making MMU3 such a howling success, I enjoyed every minute.  It was fantastic to see you both.  Take care of your camels now!

Going to collapse in front of tv any minute…

Am home too, woo hoo!!

Walking sadly and all alone (15 mins before train was due???) realised the chariot seemed a little heavy, low and behold who was sitting on the front, yes you’ve guessed it THE CAMELS…so was lonely no longer as we skipped merrily along singing, dancing etc time just passed soooooooooo quickly.

Hopped on train, then another, was met by a little golf cart thing and catapulted onto a bus to another station, helped onto last train (managed to get on the train before anyone else) thanks to the brilliant helpers, sooooooooooo journey home was fabulous.

Aaah FF delays, grrrrrrrrrrrrr, never mind you are home now, all over for another year, haha!

JCJ, have a fab holiday, remember laces glow in the dark so when camping and you have to use the loo you won’t need a torch now:smileywink:!

Nipped to supermarket for the essentials and bumped into a couple of people " my have you been on hol?" they said thanks to my new sunkissed face ie bright red not the ta"poxy"fen this time though but the sun and sea breezes, I love Norcambe!!! haha!!!

Thank you girls had a fabulously, superly, duperly time.

PS Who were the cackiling witches in the corner??? xx

“Walking sadly and all alone?”  I DID offer to come with you to see you onto the train!  Glad that Hump and Dink were there for you and all the other helpers so that your journey went smoothly.

Cackling witches in the corner?  You, me and JCJ possibly?  Now known as…Spells 'R Us! :smileytongue:

Oh, “*spells* R us” - misread that, and after I’ve just had a bath too! (Too tired/foot sore to stand up in shower!! - we did a 3 1/2 mile walk, up and down hills, on rocky paths this afternoon! )

I would’ve got the hump at you saying I smell, but it seems KFC has them both (all?)

Nearly got stuck in the bath - it’s such a stupid shape and I usually shower, so I couldn’t remember the procedure for getting from a***e to feet in a confined, slippery space!!

Soooo tired. Snzzz.

Yes you did FF but then you would have been sad and lonely…haha!!

Forgot to say after being catapulted yesterday, my plans for a loo visit were put on hold (don’t want to do train toilets) soooooooo landing at my station and after a long walk I reached the toilets, wasn’t paying attention and went into the Gents much to the great laughter of the station guards who were shouting at me:smileyembarrassed:,  another red face, added to the one I already have.

Have to go into town to pick up those tabs, feeling a bit scared sooooooooo have been on the “CBA” bench from 6.30, well, that’s my excuse anyway!

Don’t have a bath JCJ, hope your foot’s calmed down.

FF, are you gardening today?

Another thing where’s Rita when you need her xx

Stupid stupid phone! Just reread my last night’s post and thought: “KFC? WTF? Ah, it’s supposed to be KTC”

Good luck with the new tabs, KTC, and I hope the arm swelling has gone down a bit now there’s not so much tea in there. :stuck_out_tongue:

Look carefully at all signage today - we want no more toilet mishaps. Teehee.

Gardening?  Me?  No, my son and daughter-in-law have been doing the gardening today.  I have merely been watching them and providing refreshments!  The garden is now totally weed and bramble free and looks absolutely wonderful, although rather bigger and rather bare.  Son took all the rubbish and about a dozen unwanted pots to the tip.  They did however manage to make me rather ashamed of myself as it only took them about 2 hours, so I really feel that I should a) have done it myself and b) never let it get that bad.:smileyembarrassed:

I now have the desire to go out and buy plants/shrubs for the weed free tubs but being realistic I will only neglect them again and they will die.  Perhaps plastic flowers are the way to go?!

Parcel of books did arrive, so between them and the World Championships on tv that is me sorted for the weekend.

Have replaced laces in trainers today, am waiting for darkness to test them out!

Katy, I hope those tablets do what they are supposed to do and if any side effects bother you, get something to counteract them.

Arrived home, two loads of laundry, dogs fed, Hilda unpacked and 53 emails answered!!!

Now on the glitterberry juice…

Grumpy

Campsite booked for a week from Sunday. No showers, (perhaps I will be casting smells after all?) Only hot & cold wash basins, but it’s got space for us and it’s adults only. No screaming children! It’s East of here so we won’t have to go home via M6 (or any crazy route round/under/through Manchester! !)

Now just need the rain to stop!!

At the James Herriot museum in Thirsk there is a statue of James in the garden ----- and it’s brother to Eric, made by the same chap!!!

glad everyone is home safe and well.

Have been all over the internet looking for plastic plants.  Discovered that most artificial plants are silk so that’s no good for outside.  Plastic ones are few and far between and those on offer are not what I want.  I did find one small tree which was perfect but it was £308!!  I could buy a real one for £30! So if I bought one and it died I could replace it 10 times and surely one of them would live?!

Very humid here today and we’ve just had an almighty thunderstorm which caused a power cut for about 15 minutes.  Unfortunately it hasn’t done much to clear the air.  It is still humid and more thunderstorms are forecast.

Glad you’ve found somewhere to go next week JCJ. No children, that’s definitely a good thing.  I’m just going to chill at home, I have been thinking about decorating my sitting room (bought the wallpaper 6 months ago) but I’m not sure I’ve got the energy required to actually do it. Time will tell.

The campsite is not far from Thirsk, so we may well visit the James Herriot museum. I loved his books. It will be something to do if (if?? - WHEN) it’s raining.

FF, have you thought about filling some tubs with decorative stones (or soil with stones on top, to save money!!)? Or choose real plants that thrive on neglect: the pots outside this cottage have bracken in that looks quite decorative and I suspect they have seeded themselves. I know bracken/ferns grow very well at home all by themselves.

The weather was kind to us today: rain while we were CBAing about in the cottage this morning, but it stopped when we took a picnic to eat in the car in Dent Dale. Such a pretty place. We had a lovely walk. No rain.

Really should finish packing. Got to be out of here by 10am.

53 emails, your VIP status is confirmed grumpy:smileyhappy:

Brilliant you are off somewhere else JCJ, let’s hope weather is good, sunshine only!

FF in those cheaper shops they sell small trees that I think are plastic, around twenty pounds, will check next time am in shop.

Yesterday was day one of tab taking, oh dreary me…had to go to bed late afternoon, they are prescribed with anti sickness tablets FF.:smileysad:,

Mum’s surprise get together today, birthday cake all round xx

Katy, I hope the new tablets do their thing and you get over the SEs quickly.

I hope your mum is pleasantly surprised and enjoys her birthday celebrations.

Weather glorious today. Of course. We’ll spend it packing, driving, putting up a tent and unpacking. That will be the end of the good weather? ! Still, at least we won’t be putting the tent up in the rain…or…perhaps I should not tempt fate? :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t panic if I don’t post. I will be relying on car charger to charge phone and may not have signal on campsite either!!

No Ali where are you? ? Have you been at the invisible ink recently, tee hee.
Mum’s surprise birthday party went very well she was very happy to see everyone, balloons, cake and lots of presents!!
Oh my tabs are making me feel sooooo sick have decided to take them at bedtime so I can sleep through the sickness yuck fingers crossed it all calms down soon.
Pssst there’s a camel on my book case x x
