I have chosen to stop Letrozole after 9 years 4 months. I have had 6 monthly infusions of zolendronic acid finished 3 years ago . My last dexa scan a year ago showed osteopaenia i believe.
Do I need to continue the theical-d3 tablets?
Hi Happyboobs2,
Thanks for posting.
One of the potential side effects of letrozole is a thinning of the bones (osteopenia). Whilst osteopenia does not always lead to osteoporosis, calcium and vitamin D supplements such as theiCal D3, are often given to try and reduce the risk of further thinning of the bone.
As you have now finished the letrozole and zoledronic acid, we would suggest you speak with your GP to discuss whether you need to continue with the theiCal D3, as this will be dependent on your bone health, along with diet and lifestyle factors.
