Storm Riders/A Town Called Determination

Drinks are on Bilbo…quick everyone what will you have before she changes her mind!!
Hey Gennie, Ros and Martina hope everythings going ok.

What happened to my post? Poo, I’ll have to start again. Should’ve saved it.:frowning:

Di, sorry you have to have chemo, but you’ll get plenty of support and advice from the others I’m sure.

Nikki, I’m sooooo sorry you have to have an mx. But as Jane said, you want a cure and whatever it takes, you can do it. And we’re all here for you whenever you need us.

Gennie, you have more stamina than I do. Nothing would tempt me into a tent at this time of year. Unless of course, George or Goran or some other such hunk was in there… I’m glad you’re feeling better today. I really feel for all of you who are going through chemo. Just wish I could do something for you all.

Sandra, you made me laugh. Now I’m really glad I never opted for the coil. Why do we have to go through all this pain and indignity? Childbirth, smear tests, coils, mammograms… Doesn’t it make you wish you could somehow turn the tables on the men?

Yes, I keep stretching, but have done since day 1. Well, day 2 actually - I was too busy throwing up on day 1. Trouble is, I didn’t have full range of movement in the shoulder before the op, so the stretching is a bit limited anyway. Physio tomorrow, so I’ll see what happens.

Ros, sorry you got stuck in Dark Canyon. We really must build a large fence across it, to stop us wandering there in our sleep.

Nearly forgot, good luck tomorrow Lizzie.

sal - you do plenty for us going thru the chemo trail - you’re keeping us going girl! I think knowing that you’re not on your own is a big thing - I went off for my second lot last week knowing that there were at least 2 others of us being got at that day, nicky63 at the same time even! And I knew martina had been got at the day before, and Ros and Gennie the week before, and carole escaped yesterday…its weird alright but it helps…mary x

By the way, I think I’ll pass on the gingham. A bit too Doris Day for me. lol. But I’m sure Red will go for pink. Does that make sense?

Sal - you do do something, you keep everyone entertained with Stormrider Tales, you support everyone going through anything and you are one of the original Golden Girls of this thread aren’t you…without you we wouldn’t be here

Yep Nel, slide a glass down here and I’ll try not to look a plonker by letting it fall off the end of the bar  hic…

Evening ladies, glad you got your results Di. My Onc would have gone for automatic chemo with that too - don’t worry, you’re in good company and we’ll all get through it together.

Good luck for tomorrow Lizzie, we’ll all be there with you in spirit, riding down the corridor towards the theatre as outriders for your trolley!

Been back to work today. I never want to go back, but actually it was fine and kinds of makes me feel more normal again, which is a good thing. And this time it’s only for 2 days then I’m on holiday beginning of next week then the Chemo Run starts again next Weds. Oh, it rolls round quick doesn’t it?!!

Time for a glass of vino I think, then an early night. Those bloomin meeces had me awake at 5am and I just lay there listening to them scrabble about for ages and hoping they wouldn’t find a way into my bedroom. Eek!!

Nothing wrong with Doris Day Sal, after all she was famous for Que sarah sarah (spelt wrong) Hey could that be an option for our motto? …Nah… maybe not.

Gen, you need to borrow a cat, that’ll have them meeces scurrying next door.

Glad to see you’re well Gen, I never thought I’d miss work but I do. Unfortunately I don’t have a job to go back to as they shut down the week before my diagnosis…never mind it’s the chance to think of something new.

I’m heading for my bunk too, today has plum tuckered me out so I’ll wish you all a good night, by the way Sal…I wasn’t being rude about the Golden Girls, I just realised you could read that the wrong way!!!

Di x

Hi all, Nancy reckons gingham is a good look for all! especialy cute round tables with candles in Mateus Rose bottles!

She would like to sincerely apologise for hogging the bathroom earlier - but hey, that gal does hum after a day in them stables!

Steel raised an eyebrow as Nancy picked up a bottle of pink nail varnish…“Yeh, I know pink has been highjacked by the media to represent all that is pink and fluffy about BC, Steel, but have you SEEN the state of my toenails after months in them there boots?”…

“That aint the problem, Nancy, you just aint allowed to wear nail polish when you have an op, the gas man likes to see the colour of your nails…”

That Nancy, more than happy to be shovelling horse s**t in them scuddy old dungarees, that really only look good on Meryl in Mama Mia, but give her an excuse to dress for the occasion…just think flouncy skirts and them cute littl lace up ankle boots…did someone say they were some hunky cowpokes in town over Easter? …Never seen a gal get up and go quicker…

Thanks for all the luuurvve, it means a lot,

Helen, good luck for results Friday, and (((hugs))) for all -
Catch up soon
Lizzy XXX

No offence taken Di! Who are the Golden Girls anyway? I think I must be too young to remember them. lol

Jane, we had a cat and when we got meeces, he was useless. He just used to watch them running around the kitchen! Mind you, he was getting on a bit by then.

Sorry Lizzie, I’d forgotten your alter ego name when I wrote that chapter and I didn’t feel up to trawling through all those pages of posts. I’ll write it down with the others.

Sal, forgot my own alter ego name!!! - no problem!! Only remembered it cos my horse is Frank!

Cheers
Lizzy

Still waiting for a song Nancy!!!
Thanks Lizzy…I’m a bit nervous about Friday, but its third time lucky . Those bad guys ain’t gonna get the better of me yeeha!

helenxx

nahhh cats aren’t the answer…we had 3 at one time - thats why we had the bloomin meeces to start with - and the only decent mouser was me - with my Tupperware jug and wooden spoon…

I hesitate to ask, Mary, but what purpose did the wooden spoon serve? :o

Morning all, hope everyone’s feeling well today.

Good luck to anyone having anything done today, especially Lizzy off for your op this morning. Not long until your results now Helen,

Hope those meeces didn’t keep you awake Gen  I imagined the wooden spoon was used as a mallet!!! As long as you didn’t stir the spag bog with it afterwards Mary!

Morning everyone.
Morning Di…

Thinking of you Lizzy and sending loads of positive vibes…

Looks like another gorgeous day here at the moment.

Theresa x

Morning Theresa

I’m hoping the weather is good here too, it’s cloudy at the moment but I’m hoping to have my first walk in 6 weeks today and fingers crossed I don’t have a Niagara Falls moment en route! I have to do something as I was weighed yesterday and have put on 4kg being a couch potato :-0

Morning All.

Lizzy, positive and groovy vibes being sent your way. Sun’s shining. It’s a good day.

Sal, The Golden Girls was an American sitcom back in the 80s I think it was. Three, maybe four ladies of a certain age doing madcap type things each episode and proving you’re never too old.

Talking of gingham, I need some volunteers to wear dresses at the Determination easter barn dance a week on Saturday. I can’t for the life of me see Steel putting one on, although personally I’d love to get all decked out. The Storm Riders are women after all. Who’se going to volunteer? Nothing gaudy, you will all look gorgeous! Remember there will be cowpokes in town by then.

Morning all

Grey at present in the West Mids but forecast is great for later - I’ve got that Spring Cleaning urge so there’s a load of curtains going in the wash shortly, then I’m going to haul the mower out of hibernation and attack the front lawn before the sun comes out - then at least it will be under control before next week’s 2nd FEC.

Talking of mowing - hair started coming out yesterday evening (day 12 for me) so I shall be gardening in a scarf tied in that fetching 1940’s/char-lady style to catch the avalanche…

Positive vibes and big hugs (((( )))) to everyone being subjected to lightning strikes or any other stuff organised by the Sherriff today.

Rosie/Calam
PS - I seem to remember Doris Day did the gingham thing in the ‘Once I had a secret love’ scene in Calamity Jane… but I think the buckskins and denim shirt is more me!
