Hi,
I’ve recently had a Mastectomy 20th March…healing and feeling well.
Only thing I find, when having a cold drink I can feel it going down? Really strange feeling.
Anyone else experiencing this?..

I definitely remember this noticing this after my mastectomy back in 2020. I don’t know if I have just got used to the sensation now or it stopped happening. But it was weird at the time.

I had that too. Maybe now got used to it. Did not like it at the start

Really weird feeling isn’t it… must ask the Breast Nurse when see her next.

Now that you’ve posted this, I’m sure I did too. I think I assumed that, because there was missing breast tissue (which before, had acted as a buffer or warmed your breast bone and gullet), one was more aware of this process, being closer to the surface. Although, you wouldn’t think that would have such an impact on the actual internal sensations. It seems to have worn off now, 21 months later …
All sorts of changes and experiences as a result of cancer. Life is definitely ‘before’ and ‘after’ in so many ways. Wishing you well.
