Hello,
I had a WLE in 2021 for triple positive breast ca followed by 3x EC , 3x D , herceptin and radiotherapy and anastrazole . I had a local recurrence last year before the herceptin had been completed and had a mastectomy and change of hormone treatment to exemestane.
I currently have some very strange pins and needles which come and go in my feet and legs along with burning in my shins, sometimes my hands but this could be due to strimming, and is worse on sitting.
I have been seen by one of the lovely GPs at my practise today and will have various blood tests done at the end of next week, but I am now becoming very anxious about the cause and terrified that it is this hideous tumour back in my spine or brain which is making me much more sensitive to any changes.
I will obviously have to see what the results of the blood tests are but in the mean time wondered if anyone has had anything similar.
Thank you
Hello Sparrowhawk,
Thanks for posting.
Nearly everyone who has been treated for cancer worries about it coming back (recurrence) and you’re not alone in being anxious about this. The uncertainty and fear of breast cancer returning is very real.
Pins and needles in the feet and hands can be due to a number of reasons, including unrelated conditions or the cancer treatment itself. It is always good to get any new symptoms checked out, so I am pleased to hear you have been to see your GP. You could also contact your breast care nurse or a member of your treatment team to make them aware of the symptoms you are experiencing.
Your breast care nurse or GP may be able to refer you for some talking therapies to help you through this difficult time.
