Lol Ali - re 37yr old big boy
I am 39 with 14 year old daughter - I really dont know how you girls with younger kids do it - at least my daughter can sort things for herself and also I am not with her dad so she is with him half the week - gives me plenty time to feel crap if I feel crap and do my own thing.
Will check on later to see how you got on with your surgeon
Been to see the surgeon and she was great as usual. No problem about going for the bi-lateral mast with skin expander implants as a temporary recon. Wonât be that big - certainly smaller than my âDâ cups, but hey better than looking down at nothing whilst I am waiting for the perm recon. She even checked her schedule and the plastic surgeonâs schedule and booked me a date straight away. So last chemo is 2nd Nov and surgery is 30th NovâŠI am strangely looking forward to it (am I a bit odd?).
They have booked me in for my consult with the plastic surgeon too - her reputation precedes her, she is locally and nationally renowned for her work, so I know I am in safe hands.
I feel very calm about it all - ask me again the week before the surgery and that will be different story!!!
When do you get your dates sorted? Hope you are doing OK today and your Mum and Dad are alright.
I have last chemo on 13th Nov - then will have further mammo and ultrasound before seeing the surgeon - no date for that yet. Its the not knowing thats the worst. I cannot tell you how much I take my hat off to you about having bilateral mast - I dont know that I could be that brave and make that decision - but maybe if they told me one had to go I would consider it - just dont know until in that position. I sure wouldnt want to go through all this again tho thats for sure.
Took dad into hospital today for angiogram - so just have an impatient day waiting. Mum still has an infection so I havent been able to visit her in over a week!!
