Sudden Inverted Nipple

Hi, I’m wondering if someone could advise me. 
What it is, last week my left nipple was suddenly inverted. It’s stayed this way ever since, I’m finding that whenever I reach into my bra to check if it’s come out I’m finding what feels like crust or something. I’m 40 next month, I don’t think there is breast cancer in my family (not 100%) but there is cancer in my family (maternal side) I don’t know if that counts. At what point should I seek medical advice? My husband thinks it could be nothing but I can’t help but worry. 

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi , there are other things apart from breast cancer that can cause an inverted nipple eg cysts but it’s never something that should be ignored . It would be a good idea to ring your GP on Monday . We are here for support if you need it .
