Hi, i’m 38 and due to have my first Goserelin injection next week then into Extremsane. I’m finding it hard to get my head around whats to come and how this will impact my life going forward. Trying to focus on things I can control, does anyone have any recommendations for suplements, that may help? Many thanks xx
Hi
I’ve been on gorselin and exemestane for 3 months, and although it’s early days, I’ve had barely any side effects apart from some “warm” spells at night. I was on tamoxifen for a few months before that, and had a random selection of things, but they were all short lived. Im either fortunate not to have any serious problems, or it’s still waiting to catch up with me!
Regarding supplements, I have always been advised to eat a good variety of food types, to get a good mix of vitamins. But since I am now having zoledronic acid for bones, I’ve now been given Calcichew tablets to help increase my calcium and Vit D.
Unfortunately the drop in estrogen during “menopause” (whether natural or medicated) is the culprit for most side effects and we are not able to benefit from HRT.
Good luck with your treatment….ps ask for some numbing spray for the injection
I’ve been on Tamoxifen for a little while, starting Zoladex soon so I can’t comment on the side effects for that one but I get regular acupuncture for the menopause symptoms like hot flashes that come with Tamoxifen and that seems to help. You need to look for a an acupuncturist that has experience with that side of things because it’s not all acupuncturists that are good at treating menopause symptoms.
Thank you so much for your reply, I will definitely be requesting the numbing spray
Thank you so much for this, I will research into accupuncturists xx
