Just wanted to send my best wishes to all in the Hampshire group. I’ve had a year of ‘pretending’ I don’t have cancer as I’ve returned to work after treatment. It’s been hard to sustain, although treatment progress has, so far, been good.
I check in once in a while. Nicky, I had Docetaxol + Carboplatin + Herceptin (was 3 weeks too early for Perjeta!) and whilst not pleasant, it was very effective.
It looks like I might move to part-time working in the new year and hope then to be able to join you all for regular meets.
Hi,
Really sorry but I can’t make tomorrow. Just had my first docetaxol -seem to be ok at the moment but feel it would be a struggle to move myself from the Isle of Wight.
Have a good meet up and all the best with treatments everyone.
Love Helen xx
Sorry I’ve not got back sooner but currently no wifi so using phone. Can do 5th and 19th but may not be able to taste anything on 19th after chemo the week before.
Sorry you cant join us beannob, you will be missed but we know December was busy for you. Will get a date organised for Jan.
Hi,
I hope that are all doing well with treatments. I am now on week 2 of 2nd docetaxol and, touch wood, seem to be going along alright. It’s everything else around me which is awful-my lovely cousin passed away yesterday during heart surgery, 54. What makes it so hard is that she lost her 14 year old son 7 years ago to sudden cardiac death. She was so supportive of me through my treatment and I am so sad.
I don’t think I can make a Dec meet up but will try for January’s.
Take care, love Helen x
Reading your posts we really are all going through the mill. I was due my 3rd paclitaxel Wednesday but when I got to hospital they would not administer it and admitted me straight away for antibiotic IV, apparently I have an infection but I thought the bleeding nose and sore mouth were just side effects of the chemo. Today my hair began falling out. I have been cold capping but I guess it is not going to work for me. I’ve been very low but need to shake myself and get back on the train. I really hope we can all get a little better and meet early in the new year. Love to you all. Kirstie xxx
Dear Jess
I am very sorry to read about your Mum, she has been a valued member of these forums for a long time and will be sadly missed. Please accept sincere condolences form all of us here at BCC
So so sad to hear that Jacqui has passed. May you rest in peace. Jacqui was a very special part of the group and her presence will be felt by everyone. I would like to meet up to celebrate Jacqui and others lives appointments and chemo allowing. I send my sincere condolences to all of Jacqui’s family. Love Kirstie xxx
Hi there my friends in the South. I hope that you have had a lovely Christmas day. So sorry for not replying to your earlier posts -been having a bit of trouble using the forum. I would really like to see you all, I can be over in Portsmouth Gunwharf area most afternoons by 2.30ish from the Island, can’t do Thursdays due to herceptin. Let me know when is best for you all. Take care of yourselves, love Helen xx
I would love to meet up with you all again. I can do both dates but not sure how I can get there. I will check and see if it’s possible. As you can guess I am sorry to be back. I will know more about treatment by then my onc appointment after ct scan is this Thursday.
Have a good meet up tomorrow ladies. Really sorry I can’t make it over. I had my oncology appt today and results of ct scan - all good & no evidence of disease progression! Very relieved. Next appt in July.
Love to you all, Helen x
Hi everyone
No worries about Mon, hope we can come up with an alternative date. Sorry that term time is tricky for me unless it’s after 2.30 & somewhere easily accessible from the Isle of Wight.
Hope you’re all doing ok at the moment. See you soon, love Helen xx
Hi everyone
I am so sorry but I won’t be coming over tomorrow afternoon. I am very tired this week plus suffering with a permanent headache. I really wanted to see you all and have left it to the last minute to make a decision but I think I should get some rest.
Will be able to make a Winchester meet up in the first 2 weeks of August if that’s any good.
Really sorry ladies, take care of yourselves.
Love Helen x
Hi there,
I’m away again in Spain in a fortnight. Could do Tuesday 9th afternoon, 15th, 17th, 30th, 31st - sorry! Next week was really my free week. Amazing how quickly the diary fills up around treatment!
Love Helen x
Hi ladies
Have just got back from Spain so missed the last few comments on the forum, sorry. I can’t make it over this week and go back to school 5th Sep so I can only do afternoons from 2.30 in Portsmouth now -let me know if you are free to meet up sometime. It was lovely to see Karen on the Island.
Take care & hope your treatments are working well at the moment.
Love Helen x
