Hi there folks - sounds like a lot of you are of on your holidays when we are due to meet again. If anyone feels they need to have a coffee and chat do post a date an I am sure some of us will be able to make it.
Anyway lets be reckless and count on dry weather and go for Hilliers. Suggest we meet in the cafe at the main entrance to the gardens - if you havn’t been before don’t get confused and go into the garden centre by mistake, easily done. Will 2.00ish be OK? We can have a coffee and then if you are up for it go for a wander - I find it a very therapeutic place. I will PM my mobile number to likely candidates so you can text me if you cannot find us.

Looking forward to meeting up again, even if its only a few of us. I may be a bit late as I have my Denosumab injection scheduled for 12 but often have to wait around to find a nurse that’s free to administer it. I will text you, Jacqui, if I have left Basingstoke late and won’t be there by 2.
good luck Valia with the scan and hope it either helps with your treatment plan or at least gives some idea as to what’s happening.
Also good luck to anyone else having scans or results, and very envious of those who have managed to get away on holiday!

The trio at the last gathering thought that it woud be good to go back to the M&S coffee shop at Hedge End. It is easy to find and the parking is good. Can’t make the 6th I’m afraid Jacqui, I’ll be away for the weekend. Could do the Fri before, if you find lots of us can’t.
Happily I’ve had a lovely time doing various holidays and weekends away over the last month or two, although I get very tired in between. I’ve discussed a staggered return to work with my boss from Oct, in an easier role to start with, to give me a chance to build back up. I can’t believe how much fatigue I still have 4.5 months after my last chemo and have no way of telling how much better it’ll get!

Hello everyone, so sorry I could not make it on Friday, I could not get away from work. I have been having lots of pain the past week, mainly my groin, leg and back. I will contacting my oncologist tomorrow because the night time pain is unbearable. I am taking soloadol but am now completely constipated. Any advice re pain meds and constipation will be great fully excepted. I’ve had pain but not at this level for a number of months. My last scan showed nothing there (left hip area) and I was told it was just wear and tear. However I am convinced it must be something more sinister now, it is so so painful. Anyway, that’s enough moaning for now. I hope you are all ok and I will post again soon xxxxx
I can make it to Winchester on 8 Nov 2013 for 2.30pm if it is ok that I join you. I have put it in my PC calendar and diary. Think I might make a day of it in Winchester.
Don’t know if you are aware that there is a Christmas market at the Cathedral between 21 Nov and 22 Dec 2013. I went to the last day last year and got some great bargains and had a really good day in Winchester with some friends from work. There is an ice rink there as well, but I think you need to book for that.

Kirsti, that is Cr@p, as Jacqui has said. Hope that the rads sort out the pain and the different hormonal will do its job as well. Are you on denosumab? Or maybe a different bone strngthener? I wonder if it’s worth asking to change if you’re not on denosumab yet, as it does seem to be the one that quite a few oncologists are switching people to. Anyway, good luck with everything and I hope you get to the next meet up, it would be lovely to see you again.

That’s great news that you are getting a treatment that you need, and I know the WBR wasn’t what you would have wanted. I’m sure it will all go well, if a little uncomfortable, but it will be worth it I’m sure.
Should be there on Friday, thanks for reminding me though as I seem to have thought it was much further off than it is, having not quite realised were already in November!
