Hi Everyone
Just an update on myself
I got my MRI result from last Sunday
This is what it says :
Appearances are suggestive of complete radiological response. There is an 11 mm of irregular faint enhancement likely representing residual scarring, however residual disease cannot be excluded.
Complete resolution of the right axillary lymph nodes.
And I got a phone call for my surgery day to be moved on much earlier day which is my birthday, I agreed on it and I’ll make the final decision when I see the surgeon on sept 1.
Thank you for all the words of encouragement, it gave me the courage and strength to face surgery and to continue to fight this cancer.

I’m now just over two weeks post surgery. And I’ve moved on a lot. I’m able to dress myself, have a shower and things feel like they are getting better.
Some days I’ve felt really tired, so in those days I’ve found a trashy movie and just sat and had rest. On the days I am feeling energised I’m up and about as much as I can be.
The bits I haven’t liked. The fragmin injections I have to have every night. They just hurt and I’m not the biggest fan of needles. But I’ve finished those now!
The Ted socks are ok but sometimes I get a bit hot at night so I just take my toes out of the bottom.
Sleeping was tricky so I bought a multi pillow set from that big company we seem to buy everything from. It was pricey at £100 but has meant I get proper sleep.
I’m getting out and about now and getting used to not seeing my usual body in the mirror.
This sounds silly but although my boob looks different and I have no nipple, the bit that’s weirding me out the most is my belly button. It looks so different and for some reason that’s the thing that sticks.
I’m feeling quite positive and am doing my exercises 3 times a day. My surgeon has said calories are my friend while recovering so to make sure I’m eating.
I feel much better mentally and physically and it’s only just over two weeks.
Every journey is different and I felt week on that this was unachievable and I’d never stand up again.
I’m getting there and so will you if you have to go down this road xxx

Hi Ladies
Just an update I had my surgery on Monday (lumpectomy and axilliary node clearance), stayed overnight got discharge the next day with a drain. Still painful especially the armpit area, it gets numb on and off.
Doing the exercises after taking pain meds. It’s a tough journey I really hope i can get good results and won’t need another operation. And hoping this wounds heals up soon with no complications.

@jaa2019 well done. Hope you continue to recover well and that your results mean you can move on from this without further surgery. (I’m 9 weeks on from mastectomy and diep flap reconstruction with no further treatment needed). Best of luck x

I had my surgery 3 months ago as you have. Most of my pain has now gone and now just get a little nerve pain in my armpit.
I started Tamoxifen today so hope I don’t have too many side effects. I hope you feel much better soon.
How are you doing Motherducky have you had results of your lymph node surgery? Sorry if youve posted elsewhere and i just havent seen it! X
I had 5 nodes taken and one had cancer cells so it’s chemo and node clearance for me.
Getting me head around the chemo part at the moment which isn’t easy. How are you doing @susynight

@motherducky I’m sorry to hear that after the big surgery you’ve already been through. It’s a lot to her your head around. Hoping that it will be tolerable for you and not too long of a process. Thinking of you xx
Hi sorry yoyre facing chemo now. I bet that was a bit of a shock. Its good they took enough nodes to enable them to discover the cancer there though!
They only took 1 from my surgery which was clear but i cant help thinking was 1 enough. I had 4 taken in 2004 for high grade dcis yet this time it was grade 2 invasive. Something treatment doesnt make sense!
Im ok though thanks. Am having to have 15 rads as breast is still full of blood so they dont want to risk the high strength 5 day course. Ive also got mammogram on the other side next week so hoping thats clear.
Good luck with yhe rest of your treatment. Hopefully you will tolerate the chemo well and not have too many side effect
