Hi Flo Jo I think all of us who have been through this can relate exactly to how you are feeling. I read somewhere early on to keep busy while waiting for test results/ the operation and I tried to do that. The waiting is in my opinion the hardest part about all of this as we get all worked up thinking the worst!!! On the day itself you will have lots going on with pre op questions etc and everyone is super super lovely. Until then as others have suggested, try and keep really busy! Best of luck and honestly it will be perfectly fine X
Thank you. I hope so! xx
Hi @flojo,

Thank you so much - that’s so kind of you. Early start tomorrow - don’t think I will get much sleep tonight! xx
hope you get some sleep tonight remember to rest up and take it steady post op give your body chance to knit back together you will be amazed how quickly it does so be gentle with yourself and gently gently post op Shi xx
So sorry you have to go through this. Find a hypnotherapy online (you tube) and listen to it over and over. I had a lumpectomy in March, lymph node in April and will have a double mastectomy in November… for the first two surgeries I used a lot of hypnotherapy and it helped me visualize things. I was advised to go in with good thoughts and I had a really nice anesthesia dream. Of course waking up in pain was not nice, but the surgery itself was ok and I am convinced the hypnosis helped. Hope it is useful for you too.
Sending good vibes
Hello! I had my surgery this morning. All seemed ok other than I got bounced to second slot which added to my anxiety… I have to stay in tonight as I have cuffs around my legs to prevent blood clots. Not sure why this was an issue but they puff up every little while so I suspect I won’t get much sleep.
The anaesthetist put local anaesthetic into the site so currently no pain.
Glad it is over.
Thanks for all your kind wishes.
Much love. xx
