Finally have surgery tomorrow my nerves have really kicked in am frightened of such a long anasthetic. Just frightened. Don’t want it to be worse than they think. Just scared of it all now.

I think most of us have felt wobbly just before surgery, it is when the nerves kick in. For me, when the day arrived, I was quite relieved as surgery was dependant on my mri scan results from a couple of days before.
As imaging tecniques are pretty good for bc, they have a pretty good idea what the problem is, so it’s not usual to have any nasty surprises.
It will soon be over & out of your body.

Waiting for surgery is horrible. I was frightened of a long anaesthetic too but the professionals really put me at ease on the day of my op. Mine was 8 weeks ago. Wishing you all the best xx
Albalex, hope all goes well for you. Its normal to feel anxious but just remember you are going to have a nice sleep and then wake up without the nasty cancer. Surgeons do these operations all the time so it’s routine for them but a big life event for us. xxx

I just wanted to wish you all the very best for tomorrow. It’s totally normal to be frightened, we’ve all been there. The anaesthetists will take good care of you and reassure you before the operation. As others have said, all you need to do is go to sleep and wake up when it’s all over.
I hope you manage to have a good evening and get some sleep tonight. Try to relax and focus on the cancer being gone tomorrow.
Look after yourself and come back and let us know how you’re doing. There is so much support on this forum, there will always be someone to listen.

@smak hello ive just seen your message and wanted to reply . Please dont cancel go along and explain your fears to the staff . They will talk you all through it and reassure you . If you just cancel you will beat yourself up about it later. Let them talk to you there and if you really don’t want it then you dont have to its your body but please go along .
