Surgical socks?

Hi All

I had a bilateral lumpectomy and bilateral sentinel node biopsy on Tuesday.  When I went home the next day, the breast cancer nurse from clinic phoned to see how my surgery had gone and checked that I was still wearing the surgical compression socks I’d been given to wear in the hospital.  I wasn’t!  Didn’t realise I was supposed to wear them for 2 weeks afterwards.  They do wash and dry fairly quickly, but wondered where I could maybe get another pair to make it easier to wash and wear since I’m meant to be wearing them all the time?  The chemist only seems to have one size fits all flight socks so not sure… any ideas welcome.

Also one of my waterproof dressing came off one of the wounds, I managed to get another large enough one from the chemist over the weekend but it’s not waterproof, will just have to be careful!

Thank you.

I think they do them on Amazon but like you say they wash and dry pretty quickly , I think as long as you are able to move around and boost your circulation it should be ok to be without them for a short time . I had to wear them for 6 weeks after an orthopaedic op not pleasant ! My waterproof dressings  floated off after about 5 days and the nurse said that was fine then to leave them off . Maybe try and protect the wounds for a couple more days if you can  ?.
