Hi,
I had a LICP reconstruction last October, where they took skin from my back, I have a scar about 12" long from my armpit across my back. The scar has been healing really nicely and is very flat to the surface. However the other day I noticed about 3" of the scar is raised and appears to be swollen. The area is outside the radiotherapy area (finished rads 2 months ago)
Has anyone else had this? Does it go away on its own, or should I see someone about it?

Not sure this helps but 3 months after my rads I have a swelling in my underarm which wasn’t in rads area. I got this checked out by GP who told me normal to get swelling after rads, took me by surprise as I’d sailed through with no side-effects after I’d stopped cooking (some peeling & sore area but nothing much).
Still swollen & a little stiff & sore now; but I have an appt with my Onc on Friday so I’ll quiz her.
I’d give your BCN a call; it may be an after effect of rads but I’d want to be sure.
