I have an obvious swelling between my right breast and armpit. As soon as I discovered it I went to see my GP. She said that the swelling wasn’t breast tissue and confirmed I didn’t have any lumps in either of my breasts and sent me on my way. I still have the swelling (after 6 weeks) and now I have a lump on my collar bone and a hot feeling sweeps over my breast. I can only presume the collar bone lump is a lymph node.
I will leave it a few days before I go back to the doctors as it may go, and to be honest they make me feel I’m wasting their time.
Background I’m 48 years old, I had a partial hysterectomy when I was 36. I still have 1 ovary so never needed HRT. I have also gone through the menopause.
Hi Sarag,
You’re not wasting anyone’s time, so do go back & get it checked out, especially if any changes are persisting. It’s what Drs are for!
Chances are there’s a simple explanation for it, but it does need to be sorted out as it will only play on your mind.

Sarag70 - I’m sorry to read about your worry and anxiety. I hope you have been reassured by your GP and all is well.
I have a similar issue - I have an obvious soft swelling near my right armpit. I’ve been aware of it for at least 2 months and I’ve been referred to breast clinic in a few weeks time. GP didn’t give any opinion on what it could be. It’s where armpit fat accumulates right between the breast and armpit. It’s a bit tender but probably due to all my prodding. I have started to feel a slight tightness / stingy feeling in the area a few times a day, but I realise this could be due to my anxiety about the swelling. I don’t feel any hard lumps but there are moveable stringy structures similar, although seem more pronounced, to what I can feel on the other non-swollen side.
Thanks for reading. The waiting is very difficult so I’d be grateful for any reassurance.
