Swelling between Right Breast and Armpit

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone out there has had this swelling/lumpiness sort of thing between breast and armpit area. It sort of goes into my armpit a bit too, and I can feel something that feels like a lymph node in there. It’s not sore or anything. Hoping it’s nothing…

I have an appointment with a breast clinic consultant tomorrow afternoon, and am hoping that it’s not a massive concern to him when I get checked. I am so nervous, as only 9 months ago (June 2018) I was diagnosed with BC (it was my left breast), and have since completed my treatment, apart from Tamoxifen which I tried but couldn’t tolerate the side effects.

I am super nervy about it, I am trying to remain calm, but haven’t been able to eat very much. Also my partner has been being very moody with me, which doesn’t help my anxiety at all, almost like this is all my fault!! I just feel miserable right now. I was all ready to move on from this whole thing last year, and now all the anxiety has come flooding back.

Sorry to be a downer, I just needed to vent.

Well this is the place to vent, that is the beauty of it because you are among people who know what you are going through.

You have done absolutely the right thing in getting it checked out for your own peace of mind.

Sending you a pair of the big pants tomorrow, sending loads of postive vibes. Let us know how you get on

Hi I have had similar but it was painful too which alerted me to the problem. Mine was on same side as previous breast cancer 7 years previously. I also felt lethargic too which again made me suspicious. I had ultrasound and CT scans to check it out and the ultrasound showed several enlarged lymph nodes. Unfortunately they were cancerous so I’m back having chemotherapy again. My consultant could not feel anything though and was not concerned but I reiterated that I did not feel right so he agreed it needed to be checked. Lymph nodes can be enlarged for a number of reasons though, not necessarily due to cancer so I hope that you get a positive outcome.
