Im currently on the Tact 2 trial, I have finished the epi and am now on the third course of Xeloda. I jut wondered if anyone else felt as though there stomach swelled during treatment, I have lost some weight during treatment (only a couple of pounds but anything is a bonus) but I feel as though my spair tyre is bigger than my main tyre. I feel as though the spair tyre is getting bigger by the day and its starting to really get to me.

I don’t know if its the same but my stomach has swelled since I started treatment but thats including surgery (I am now 2 days post 3rd FEC) but I have put on a little bit of weight too and I think thats just down to lack of exercise and being sedentary through not doing my normally active job. That being said it does seem to be my stomach which has piled the tyre on rather than anywhere else. It doesn’t seem to be growing daily though.

Thanks, I may just be paranoid now, but I bought a really nice dress for the christmas party and i can hardly get it done up now, Its driving me demented. I really do not need to look any bigger either. Never mind. I hope the chemo goes ok and your stomachgoes back to normal soon.

Good luck with your xmas party Angela, I have my husband’s xmas party tomorrow night (4days after FEC!), the first since his promotion and everyone there will know about my BC so I want to look fab and have brought a stick on bra (can’t wear a proper one due to open back wound), got wig, eye pencil and eyelashes, control pants and new shoes to go with dress I love but haven’t tried it all on yet and feel so crappy I won’t feel a dollar let alone a million! Might just sod going for the “I have BC and don’t I look great” and sit there bald and fat and go for the “I have BC and it stinks”. Might be a bit more honest!

Thanks, I know what you mean about feeing one dollar, I havent had a reconstruction and have managed to find a strapless mastectomy bra, just hope its going to look ok. Mind you, it all depends on if I can get the dress done up.
I am going to the christmas party with my head held high and everytime someone asks me about the BC im gonna tell them that it doesnt exist over christmas and they can ask me about it again next year. I just want to go out and have a fun night. I dont know about you but sometimes I feel as though its the only topic of conversation now. I should have a new wig, eyelashes have been bought and i have 3 different control pants to try, may have to wear all at once… may not be able to breath or sit down, but my stomach should look a bit flatter hehe.
