I have’nt posted on here for a very long time but found it invaluable when first dx in April 2006.
Had WLE followed by rads and almost 5 years on Arimidex.
About 5 weeks ago went to my G.P. when I noticed a smal round swelling on my chest (i would say about an inch ti inch and half above cleavage line). G.P assured me it was nothing to do with BC. Last Fri 8th April had what was to be my last routine follow up appt with ONC thought I would mention the swelling. He examined me and immediately seemed concerned. This made me panic and I can only remember him sating something about lymph node being swollen behind ? chest wall and that he had “serious concerns”. He ordered CT Scan which was done quickly yesterday and siad he would see me in 2 weeks. However because of easter they have made appt for 29th April. I feel extremely panicked. Has anyone had similar presentation and what was the outcome??? Not knowing what to expect makes things much harder for me. Can anyone help?? Any advice??
Lillibet, I am so glad that you mentioned it to your onc. Whatever the outcome at least you will know and hopefully it will be good news. I had a recurrence in the lymph nodes behind my pectoral muscle in 2008, 4 yrs after original dx and mx/chemo/rads/tamox and later exemestane. Like you, i found it myself (it was hard to find). It has been treated by surgery, tax, rads, herceptin and arimidex. I think they threw everything at it which was very good. My experience doesn’t mean that yours is the same though. If your ct was yesterday, I would suggest that you give the bc nurse a ring at some point this week and tell her your worries - it is a long time to wait. However, i was told that time was not really an issue with mine - in fact I waited 3 and a half weeks for surgery after I did get the ct results back. I don’t know if this helps, hope it does, take care, Mo x
