Hi anyone. I’m new and would like a bit of advice if possible. I’m 44 and 10 years ago had lump which were diagnosed as cysts. No problems there. Always had lumpy bumpy painful breasts especially when due on. Sometimes for weeks at a time. Anyway had the coil fitted two years ago and bye bue boob pain. A couple of months ago noticed big lumps in both breasts. Waited a while to see if they would go away. They didn’t. Went to gp. Sent to breast clinic saw doc. Everyone expected big cysts. Had mammogram and scan. Scan woman said only a couple of tiny cysts and even was expecting at least a 4cm cyst. She then said I have very dense breast tissue and could be hormonal and was going to send me home. I said I had questions about the pain so she said I could see doc again. So I was expecting doc to tell me all fine but he wasn’t happy and did core biopsy. Results next Tuesday. Problem now is breasts are so so painful and swollen. Like I’ve just given birth. I don’t even know what I’m asking anymore haha. Maybe why would both my breast swell so much? Or am I imagining it? My other question is I have to go back for results and see a oncoplastic surgeon? Is that a normal doc to get results from. So so sorry for the waffling
Hi Spuddycat,
I just replied to your other post in another subject chain - yes it’s totally normal to get the results back that way.
Most women find the core needle biopsy ok, however a small minority of us have bruising which causes swelling afterwards. I did…and was just told I bruise easily! It should slowly start to ease off. Do inform the specialist when you see them on Tuesday just to double check.
Hope that helps, any more Q’s feel free to ask.
