I’ve just completed FECT and now have very swollen eyelids. They feel sore, a bit like I’ve got a stye but they are not sticky. I don’t have any eyelashes so the overall look is pretty awful, especially as I can’t wear eye makeup. I’m going to the GP but see it’s quite a common problem with chemotherapy so thought I’d ask for advice in advance. I googled and found it can be a chronic problem so would love to hear that it can be treated. Thanks everyone.
Hi Kobe , your GP should be able to sort it and if they are in any doubt ask them to refer you into Ophthalmology and be seen there a good optician may be able to tell you too. In the meantime I would try 1/2 tsp of salt in a mug cooled boiled water and just wipe my eyelids with it on cotton wool which is what I always do when my eyes hurt. Also id try avoid my eyes with any creams or moisturiser and just rub a bit of olive or almond oil round that area. Its probably more some kind of irritation as our lashes really do keep a lot away from our eyes without us realising
