Swollen toe

The little toe of my right foot has been swollen and sore since Monday. I can’t walk with shoes on as it’s painful. It does seem to be getting better but just wondering if I need to do anything about it or contact my helpline. I’m always unsure as to when I actually need to call them.
I have also had diarrhea this week which is better but the resulting haemorrhoids are soo uncomfortable. I’ve been in touch with my GP to see if they can prescribe me a cream but again, do I need to call the helpline or just manage this myself?
I’m on chemo and immunotherapy for TNBC but the way

:heart:always check everything with your team, best to be sure alls ok, that’s what I did during chemo even with no temperature. My wee burned and had no temperature and they got me in and it was infection that needed antibiotics so even if you think it’s nothing, do check with them do they can keep you safe :two_hearts::two_hearts::sparkles::sparkles:Shi xx

I’m trying to avoid going to hospital. I’m in twice a week every week as it is and the thought of going in for nothing (already happened twice when the team made me go to A&E and it was pointless both times) makes me cry.

I would call your own helpline as the BCN nurses will not be able to answer you question until at least Monday now. Better to be safe.

Hi mumsy

Thanks for posting.

You say that the little toe on your right foot has been sore and swollen since last Monday, and you are having chemotherapy and immunotherapy for TNBC. Chemotherapy can temporarily affect the number of blood cells in your body and increase your risk of developing an infection. So as @Shi suggests, its always best to let your treatment team know about any new symptoms you are experiencing whilst you are having treatment.

If you haven’t already done so do contact your breast care nurse or treatment team about your toe and also let them know about your haemorrhoids. They will be able to prescribe a suitable cream if your GP hasn’t done so already.
