I was on this forum in January / February when I had a tumor detected and biopsied. I was finally given the all-clear but I found some great friends along the way. Now it seems pretty weird to be on here again, this time about my partner. He noticed a small white bump / spot on the very end of his left nipple around two weeks ago. Being a typical man, he wouldn’t get it checked out. Then last Thursday, he got out of the shower and I saw this huge bruise beneath his chest hair, above the left nipple. He had no idea how he’d gotten it. It wasn;t tender to touch but was very big - about the size of an orange. Yesterday, although the bruise is fading, he also has little dark purple dots and the tissue beneath the bruise is very hard, like a large mass is now there. He got an emergency appointment today and our doctor is concerned and has requested a biposy appointment for him asap. Has anyone else expereinced such symptoms and are there any males out there going throught he same process?? Any help would be very much appreciated. It all seems very surreal at the moment. A bit like deja vu…
Hi angelteejay
I’m sorry to read you’re having such a worrying time with your partner. Whilst you are waiting for the other users to respond you might find it useful to look at the information on the website about men and breastcancer, here is the link to the page:-
breastcancercare.org.uk/information-support/have-i-got-breast-cancer/breast-cancer-in-men
Also, if you need additional support or just to talk things through with somone do give the helpline a call on 0808 800 6000. Here you can share your concerns with a memeber of staff who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information. Lines are open weekdays 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.
