I,ve just finished a 3 week course of Radiotherapy and to be honest throughout i was ok and didn’t appear to suffer any symptoms.
I am now 2 weeks post treatment and found my breast has become very itchy, first question is this normal, 2nd question is there anything you guys recommend for this.

Two weeks seems spot on. I had no side effects beyond a mild itch on my breast muscle, then 2 weeks after finishing treatment, I developed an itch from front to back. I also developed pain in my breast muscle along my mastectomy scar which I still need Pregabalin to ease it two years on.
Keep moisturising at least twice a day, using a recommended unperfumed cream. Keep exercising the area too. It varies from person to person how long it lasts. I think my itch lasted about a month. The pain has yet to go away.

I am using aveeno cream and aloe vera. Aloe dries, but soothes the skin from the itching and burning. Keep aloe and cream in the fridge. Dont get the sun on your affected area.
I will be 5 weeks post Radiotherapy on Monday 2nd Aug.

My team recommended taking an anti-histamine tablet to help with itchiness. I only had a couple of times were it was itchy and the anti-histamine stopped it on its tracks both times. May be worth asking about.
