Has anyone stop taking tamoxifen due to joint pain… been suffering so much spoken to my oncology nurse she told me to go away and take ibuprofen for two so i did it didnt help so i rang here yesterday, and now she has told me to stop taking tamoxifen for two week. I then have to ring her back to see if the pains have easy… feeling a bit worried if it doesnt get better, also i am worried about my oestrogen being release. Has anyone experience a similar thing

Hi,
i’m on tamoxifen and have noticed my ankles and feet really hurt. knees and hands are also a bit stiff. haven’t been told to stop it but feel i’m constantly conplaining about my joints achings.

i complain re hot flushes and so on but had achey joints before, which haven’t got any worse but i am also on REACT trial so i may be on anti arthritic medication or a placebo. some days i think yes… some days i think no…
but yours is clearly a pronounced achiness and if it is continuing you should see the oncologist - i don’t think the nurse should have said to stop…
I hope it gets better soon
