Tamoxife and facial hair
Tamoxife and facial hair What joy - as if all this is not cr*p enough I was sitting on the sofa next to my 16 year old today and she calmly informed me I had 3 long black hairs growing under my chin!!!
Guess what - its true - maybe I am going to grow a beard.!!
Having done some quick research I see that the dreaded tamoxifen can cause excess facial hair - has anybody else had this??
I have hastily lpucked them but if they come back I will have to have electrolysis.
I truly cant take anymore.

Hello Alise Hello Alise
The joys of taking Tamoxifen and what they call “monkey face”. It is fine fair facial hairs on the face. A lot of women have the long black hairs and they do not take tamoxifen. It is hormonal. It is very very common complaint with women. Many of us get our eyebrows professionally done and they sort out the other.
I noticed your profile that your tumour was near your sternum. So was mine. Located at 2pm. This worried me for ages and I spend hours and hours searching the internet to see if it would affect my prognosis. I can be reassured I obtained good margins from my partial mastectomy. Did you obtain good margins from your surgery?
Keep good health and enjoy each day. Lots of love Peach
Message fo Peach Hi
Thanks for reply about facial hair (what joy)!
I was v worried about tumour near sternum in case it had gone in my internal mammary glands so I went back in one of my states of hysteria to my poor oncologist.!
He said if it as long as it is a small tumour with no axilla nodes affected and large clear margins then it was extremely unlikely to have gone into the other nodes.
I did have big margins . He said the location of the tumour does not affect the prognosis .
There’s always something to worry about isn’t there?! I did post about this a while back - you may be able to find it.

Hair Growth from steroids I had some hair growth on my cheeks-sort of beard area but very fine - asked the onc. and he said it was most likely down to the steriods I took during chemo. I am on Tamox. as well.
The good news is…I finished chemo in mid-Oct and the extra hair disappeared in April.
Fingers crossed for you too.
Lots of love
