Tamoxifen and breast pain

Hi,

I was diagnosed with left ER+ breast cancer in feb and had a left mastectomy and implant reconstruction in April. I have been taking Tamoxifen since may. About 2 weeks after starting tamoxifen I started developing pain in my right breast and my right nipple is very sensitive/sometimes sore. I mentioned to my breast team and had an ultrasound which I was told was fine (still abit paranoid as the pain/sensitivity is constant and doesn’t feel like it’ll get any better!)

I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how long it lasted?

Sorry you’ve still not had a response , maybe breast pain is not very common in relation to tamoxifen . Could this be related to healing after your mastectomy and possibly settle down in time ? I had much less invasive surgery than you ( lumpectomy ) but I was very sore and sensitive for a long time after surgery and still struggle with mammograms 7 years on . You could ask the nurses opinion on the forum in the Ask the Nurses section?
