I’m waiting for a gynaecologist appointment as ultrasound scan found things in uterus that radiologist didn’t like. Hope to have appt by 18th. Breast care nurses & gp supportive.
i had DCIS in 2004, cancer escaped in 2007, chemo op radio. In Oct 2019 ct scan found endometrial wall thickening.
im almost 65 and the wait is tiring.
anyone had similar?

My primary was in 2008 when I was 38, had surgery, chemo and rads, then went on tamoxifen. In 2009 I had endometrial thickening, had a d&c and it was all fine, carried on with tamoxifen. Had my ovaries out in 2010 then went on to Letrozole for 2 years, then back on tamoxifen for 6 years, so 10 years in total. CT scan in September showed thickening of uterus lining again, so had an internal scan (a probe, a bit like a vibrator to be honest!) was inserted so the sonographer could see. Something showed up so I then had a hysteroscopy, where they put a thin tube up into the womb, you can watch on the screen if you like - I did. Anyway, this showed a polyp which they removed there and then , and it was not cancerous.
Hope this helps, I know it won’t take the worry away, and we are all different, but for me it was easy compared to everything else.

Hi there. I was put on Tamoxifen for 5 yrs in 2006 after mastectomy for breast cancer. A few years afterwards my periods became intolerably painful and heavy. To cut a long story short Gynecology were fab. They took a wee biopsy and treated an area if my womb (like having a smear but with local anaesthetic as can be uncomfortable). I also too painkillers just before appointments.
Sometime later I had some more treatment. They then decided to do an endometrial ablation under general anaesthetic. My uterus was very heavy and thickened due to tamoxifen (very common side effect I believe) and there were some changes they didnt like the look of (again commonly seen in lining thickened by tamoxufen). I also had some big fibroids. I was in overnight and had my tubes tied (sterilised at same time). That was around 2013.
They kept an eye on me and Ive been fine and have not needed a hysterectomy which would have been next step for me. I had no periods after the ablation and no pain.
I was very well looked after and felt that this is something they are used to seeing and are confident in sorting out.
It won’t be long till you are seen and can get it sorted too.
