Tamoxifen and iron levels

Hi
Does anyone know whether it’s OK to take iron pills whilst taking Tamoxifen?

Was taking iron pills prior to dx last November due to low HB levels but came off them after mastectomy and haven’t taken them since.

Now experiencing usual symptoms-tiredness, lack of energy, mouth ulcers, feeling cold, headaches etc and have made an appointment with GP for Friday-(couldn’t get an app any sooner!). Don’t want to start taking iron before a blood test as results won’t be accurate, but wondered whether anyone knew if it will be a problem to take both iron and Tamoxifen?

I would wait to see your doctor before you start taking any supplements just in case they interfere with your Tamoxifen.

When I first started on Tamox last year, I was really quite poorly, tired…to the point of exhaustion, but within a couple of months, I started to feel better and since my periods have stopped I feel great.

Maybe it’s just a reaction to the Tamoxifen then?

Will wait and see what GP says tomorrow.
