Tamoxifen and lactose intolerant

I am lactose intolerant and my first brand of Tamoxifen was APS which does not list lactose in the ingredients but both my local chemists can no longer source. The second brand was CP Pharmaceuticals which does contain lactose. Does anyone know of another brand which does not contain lactose, please?

I can’t help Sandra - but suggest you speak to the pharmacy at your hopsital. I know a lady at the Marsden who is intolerant to lactose and they have helped source all sorts of drugs without the lactose filler.

When I was on tamoxifen my pharmacist sourced the make that best suited me - but he did find it hard as the suppliers purchase the cheapest at any time - you could try ringing roung pharmacies or contacting Unichem direct?

Best of luck.

The trouble with chemists is they buy in the cheapest brands,i had this same problem but after speaking to my onc he kindly wrote to my GP and told him to only perscribe me the APS brand of Tamoxifen, now i always get APS as the chemist has to issue it. The trouble is if your GP doesnt state a particular brand on the perscription then the chemist will give you the cheapest brand that week and you never know what your going to get from one month to the next. If your onc will write to your GP and they are usealy happy to do so, your GP and chemist have to supply it.
Good luck i hope this helps
All the best
