Hi everyone, has anyone found they are getting teenage style spots during this, im 46 and still had spots around my chin without bc. now i keep getting them on my forehead, under my nose and they are quite ugly.
am using spot cream but imagine it is the hormone balance, anything natural i could try, without rattling?? have just started vit b and starflower for hot flushes.
Many thanks

Hi Anne
I had spots too with the Tamoxifen and other side effects. So please don’t feel that you’re on your own. I am sure that someone will come along and give you some advice on how to deal with them. I can’t really help cos of the other side effects I was taken off the Tamoxifen.
Hi Anne,
prior to BC diagnosis I had a hormone imbalance which caused teenage acne like skin on my face. I found tea tree lotions and treatments quite effective and the added bonus is you don’t have to take any tablets. I bought mine from the Body Shop that had quite a wide range of quality products.I have been on Tamoxifen since December 2012 and I still get more spots than I would expect as a woman of 50 - under my nose, can be very sore. I went to a LGBF session and got lots of freebies so currently trying to maintain good cleansing routine, which helps.

I’ve been on tamoxifen since June 2010 and have just turned 36. I’ve had an outbreak of spots on my foreheard, nose around the eye and they are really sore. They seem to linger on for ages so I’m not too sure what I can do as well.
Hi Anne
You are certainly not alone!
I am 57yr, and have been on Tamoxifen since October 2012. I too have the (occasional) bad breakout of spots under my nose and on & around my chin. They take ages to clear, and as I have pale skin I have quite a few marks which are taking ages to heal. I have gone back to the age old little dab of toothpaste on the infected area which seems to work for me, and also to washing with soap (Dove) and a flannel twice a day. I keep moisturiser away from the chin, and also try when possible not to wear makeup. Basically, I’m treating the little nasties as if I’m still a a teenager, e.g. healthy eating etc.
Helen, thank you for your tip re. Vitamin E from Body Shop, I will certainly try this.
