Tamoxifen/ blood pressure

Hi I’m new to the group, I had breast cancer surgery in July last year and due to hematomas and not healing I had to have a clean out procedure in November.

So I was started on tamoxifen which at first I thought was fine but recently iv been having problems with it, my blood pressure was 194/97 so I have to take blood pressure tablets now also but I was getting alot of discharge and period like pains yet I haven’t had a period since last April, so I spoke to the nurse who suggested I come off the tablets for 3 weeks to have a break and see if my symptoms got better.

Iv felt totally fine and back to normal but I need to try them again (taking on a am has I was taking them pm) it’s just been over a week and my blood pressure is on the rise again and this time have a very dry mouth aswell as the discharge starting Face palm tone1‍, I was just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems with tamoxifen

We are on the same boat. I am again in menopause after my period came back and I have cramps and a very dry mouth and sore throat.
I also did had the same issue with BP the first time taking it, I remember even writing about that here. Now they lowered my dose and my BP is lower than usual (but still healthy) I went from 120/80 to 110/70. Tamoxifen is weird and I am struggling so much and it is only a month I have been taking it.

Im waiting for a phone this week to see if they are going to change it :woman_facepalming:t2: its a nightmare

Hey! Mine has the opposite effect. I had normal BP 117/75 most days and 3 months into Tamoxifen 20 and mine is now running 100/70. I have also lost 40 lbs as I’m on a diet but I’ve never been that low and nothing else as changed. They say it usually increases and not lower your BP tho
